OUT
Black & Murphy will depend on injuries and M Carr and Peake ommited.

IN
Solomon, McPharlin, Taz (for Murph if he's injured) and Ibbo (for Black if hes not right)

personally i would prefer to see Ibbo in cause he is young.. but they will stick with Black if he is right. Taz still needs to prove he is in the best 22... if he can bag 10 in the WAFL then welcome back.

Hahaha it's funny how people can think in almost opposites and get different things out of the game.

I too, thought Gilmore was pretty good defensively today. Certainly had Hansen's measure. His form in the latter part of 2007 and this year would mean he would be EXTREMELY unlucky to be dropped next week.

I wasn't as rapt in Murph as a lot here on BF. I thought he was pretty average, and didn't look like someone who is 100% committed to getting a game...compare his urgency with someone like Chopper. Spud had 6 kicks, 50% disposal efficiency, kicked no goals and gave one up with a 50m penalty. Not sure if that form warrants selection in the team over Gilmore.

I wouldn't be disappointed to see him in next weeks team however, as I think either Campbell or him need to be given a chance to get their confidence up at AFL level and be given a few games. To be given a game at the expense of Gilmore however... no way.

Everyone says give guys atleast 2 weeks but you all want to drop Murphy
I actually thought he wasnt that bad considering the slippery conditions. I bet Worsfold would of loved him in there side today.

Ins-Solly, Mcpharlin, Tarrant

Outs-Peake, M Carr, Gilmore

Yet you want Gilmore out after one 'average' game yesterday when he's been one of our most consistent players over the last ten games or so??

That doesn't make sense. Don't we all agree on rewarding form?

Spud deserves another go, him and Pav play well together and he knows how to lead when there is another big forward around.

I'd take him over tarrant any day.

Out:
Black: He doesn't look fit and was one of the worst yesterday, imo not in the best 22 atm other younger players that can make a good contribution
M Carr: Hopeless, sorry to say it but he always gets beaten one on one, whoeva he is tagging still gets alot of it, he is past it.

In:
McPharlin
Obrien: Chuck him on half back to play what has been Blacks role and/or in the middle as a tagger.

Murphy: Was a hell of alot better then what Tarrant has been in any of his recent games, sure he was goaless but he was lively and always presented. I can recall a few times when i saw him lead and he was ignored, give him a few games i think he's starting to get his form back.
Tarrant: Not as good as Murphy or Campbell or Mayne needs to go into the WAFL for a bit
Duffield,Gilmore: Both solid contributers yesterday and were in the better half of our players
Peake: Give him another week, yes he made some skill erors but imo he looks like he's coming into some form. He's starting to find the ball alot and run and carry, with the confidence of form hopefully his skills will improve.

Form? Good lord

Apparently Spud split the webbing in his hand and had 15 staples but stayed out there (not sure which hand), but I think you have to cut him some slack for that.

Pav and Murphy do play well together and I think so does Kiwi. Either of them is better than Tarrant and deserve a few games to make a claim.

I agree - but i think he was less than average. he was useless out there. I would prefer Kiwi to get anothe rgame. Murphy just doesn't WANT it enough. how people can say he'll only be out for Injury are kidding themselves.

My thought on Gilmore being dropped is more of a team balance than form. He isnt a backman and with Warnock in he wont be in the ruck. With Mcpharlin back, maybe Tarrant and Solly somebody needs to be dropped.

Sorry for having an opinion but i wouldnt rate Gilmore in our top 6 defenders whisch atm all are avl, he isnt in our top 2 ruckman which both are playing, and i personally dont think he is a forward. He actually may be good on a wing instead of Peake.

Big ins and Big Outs I know but I would like to see it happen

In: McPharlin, Ibbo(if fit)/Solly(Ibbo replacement), Tarrant

Out: Murphy (inj) Peake, Hayden (inj)

Ins:McPharlin for obvious reasons, Ibbo to become the New Peake while if not fit then Solly comes in for him to play int he backline while Mcpharlin can have some spells up forward and Tarrant, well he's had a week of so should be fit and ready to fire and get his confidence up playing Richmond

Outs: Murphy had unfortunaly ripped the webbing in his hands so mihgt not be fit to go come sunday. Hayden hopefully will be ready to go but have left him out for the moment till we get more news and Peake, well if you have the Hobbit waiting in the wings who is faster and better foot skills well then Peake just doesn't have the same sheen on him as he once did, because face it, without his speed he's actually pretty useless isn't he?

I agree with you on Gilmore Brumbie. It would be a little harsh on him to drop him, but until he can claim a position as his own, he's going to find himself in and out of the side. While we have a fairly healthy list, he is not close to best in any position. I also think his disposal lets him down too often to claim a spot from 19-22 - the number of times he runs the ball 20-30m down the ground only to stop, prop and turn it over is not good enough.

He's not a lone hand in turning it over, I can't think of many players outside the 22 we had playing on Saturday whose form has been better the past 10 games.

I don't really believe in "structure" outside of the need for two ruckmen, a solid backman and a good marking forward. Everyone else is a utility these days, and they should be played on form. I think Gilmore's form is good enough for now.

The wing is where he should be playing.
In the mean time he might not be a match winner, but he can play any number of KP's as a suitable replacement.
By so doing the likes os Sandi, Pav or Elvis can move around the ground confident their spot is in good hands.

Ins
ibbo
o brien
mcpharln
solly

outs
murphy
black
mcarr

4 ins depending on match ups who plays but pretty sure they shoulld play all ibbo o brien palmer mayne duffield peake richmond have pace these blokes all do and are the future and could be good experience for them against richmond at home

Can't agree with people calling for Gilmore to be dropped. He's come on in leaps and bounds lately and I think he's become quite an important player for us. I think he still suffers from the reputation he built up in his early years of being a donkey. But the Gilmore I see running around these days bears no resemblance to that early Gilmore. He's well and truly won me over.

My problem this week is there are 3 players I want in and only 2 I want dropped. And 3 into 2 doesn't go.

Ins: McPharlin, Solly and Ibbo

Outs: M. Carr and Peake

I guess that leaves Murphy as the one who has to make way for McPharlin. Play Elvis up forward and leave our back 6 as is.

I was never a fan of Gilmore in the past but he has been good so far this season and I'm surprised some are calling for him to be dropped.

Just on the game against the Tigers, Richo was terrible Today so hopefully he continues that form next weekend. Polak took some very good marks inside 50 but surprise surprise his kicking for goal was poor.

Solly and Luke Mac have to come in but i can only find 1 out and thats Matt Carr.
Duffield stays, Gilmore stays, Peake stays as he looked to run a little better but his disposal was terrible but i think we persist with him. So who else goes out?
Whats the bet tarrant takes Murphys spot???

Cant believe i/m saying this but wiz your spot on with this one:thumbsu:
Agree with assesment on Peake ,set up goal for Mundy and was starting to get the ball & run in the right direction.Gilmour is a no brainer ,must stay.

My god people,

firstly, matt carr made embley look second rate, HE DID A GOOD JOB! so why drop a player that can stop one of the others best? his disposal can be questionable but the good outweighs the bad, how can people not see that?

secondly, heath black would be in our top five best players when fit and firing, admittidely he has had a bad start to the year, but you always back a champion to come back, and he will, and when he does you will all be singing his praises about how good he is and what a great decision it was to keep him in the team.

Thirdly, Taz is so far ahead of murphy bradley and campbell, that it is staggering that anyone could think of trying to replace him with one of them. murphy has all the potential in the world but the heart of a wallnut so the minute something goes wrong, his head is down and from there he is useless. bradley, well everyone saw what he was like at essendon, nothing has changed. and as for campbell, i actually think a chicken with its head chopped off would do a better job than him.

Gilmore. im coming around on him, but his decision making is questionable and his toughness at the ball non existant

In: Solly, Taz, Mcpharlin, Ibbotson

Out: Gilmore, Murphy, Duffield, Michael Johnson

Murphy just doesn't look up to it. He got a similar return to Tarrant (ie nothing) and I'll bet Tarrant was checked alot closer and drew a better defender.
I'm not a massive Tarrant fan and he needs to lift big time but Murphy is not the answer. Very one directional for mine and not versatile enough to play well up the ground as Tarrant can - his kicking has even gone off, the accuracy and confidence of 2006 is a long way away.

I agree to an extent and its good to see he did the job. Embley however is no world beater these days. I think Crowley can be as good as a tagger and can hurt sides the other way - he apaprently has fantastic running ability. We can afford to edge Matty out and move on.
