IN's Myers | Neagle | Dempsey

*********FOR**********

OUT's Slattery | Pears | Dyson

Pears out? In 2 games he's played more accountable football than half the team... I think he only made 1 bad mistake all game where he gave too much slack to his opponent.

Give kids extended runs I say! :thumbsu:

... I too would bring in Myers, Neagle and Dempsey if all are fit. Outs fo me would be Slattery, Laycock and Dyson. Laycock needs a good kick in the pants! Dyson goes missing 2 out of 3 weeks and he's been given plenty of opportunity this season!

Re: 'My' Team vs Pies

On the other hand, has Slattery had the chance to show that he can be an attacking midfielder? I'd like to see him playing for a few games without a tag, as an inside midfielder, to show us what he can do. This season is not about winning, it's about knowing who's capable of what. If we can play Slats for 3 weeks or so as a Jobe Watson type player, we can tick or cross that for the future.

I don't think Slattery has the disposal or speed to be an attacking midfielder... there aren't many bullocking midfielders left in the game, JJ is/was the last of that breed.

Massive contradiction there.

IN: Dempsey (If Fit) or JJ

OUT: Monfries

Dempsey would be a welcome addition to the team after his good start to the season, deceptively good over head. Monfries provided nothing last week and will be doing well to keep his spot. If not fit bring JJ in, Watson needs help with the clearances that is one area we were smashed in on Friday.

I feel that there will only be 1 change, maybe 2 at most, knighter will try to keep same group. We have the speed already there to beat the pies, now just need some tall running players to help out.

Laycock,Rama and Dyson will stay and will play better than that, cant get worse.

IN Neagle and or Meyers - Depends if they are both right after short weeks

OUT Monfries and if another needed NLM

Massive contradiction there.

I wouldn't call the 22-24 year old bracket "kids". Dyson, Laycock, Slattery, Johns, Nash, Davey, Watson, Winderlich etc i would say Davey and to a certain degree Watson have been the most consistent and provided the most output.

In the bracket of "kids" i would put Ryder, Jetta, Demspey, Myers, Pears, Reimers, Hislop, Neagle, Gumbleton etc and I would put to you these guys have done more on the whole to show me they will be there when Essendon have their next tilt at the flag as the beforementioned.

Yes. Montagna. You obviously havn't seen him play this year.

Or last year even.

The guy has become a gun player for the Saints.

I was in Thailand and didn't manage to see the game but if he shut him down he has done a serviceable job. :thumbsu:

I would have thought the need this week would be to bring in another tall offensive option to take the heat off Llyod.

I would have thought Neagle was the bloke to come in, he should play forward when Hillie is in the ruck. When Hillie is resting it should be deep in the forward line, Neagle to come off (he doesn't have the fitness to compete for extended periods but could be very damaging in bursts) and Laycock to go into the ruck.

This approach allows the attacking 50m to always have two targets which means we are far more likely to mark or bring the ball to ground where davey, lovett etc can get shots on goal.

Get rid of Fremantle for the team that you barrack for before you start saying "we". I'm not involved with the Fremantle Dockers... although I guess "you" do have half our former team of assistant coaches and players! Boy didn't you guys get sucked in!!! :D:D:D

Kepler Bradley!!! <s******>

Just reported on Ten News. Burns, Didak, Rocca, Swan (think thats it) have pulled up sore. Burns and Swan only did laps while Didak and Rocca didn't train at all. Even if they do play, we know they won't be 100% fit

We have very few options I'm afraid.

All those shouting for talls that could assist Lloyd, your right the captain does need assistance unfortunatley the guys that could help him arent ready - Darcy (no preseason and needs time), Johns (now a backman), Neagle (not fit enough), Hooker (not ready) and Gumby and Lucas are injured - thats it, NO option.

All those saying we need more inside midfielders that can compete in the clearnces your right, our options at this stage are: - Peverill (not good enough) and JJ (very slow and not a great option at the G).

We can make changes, we could bring in JJ (especially if its wet), we could bring in Myers (although i dont see the point yet as he hasnt had enough game time).

The one change that I would make is in the line up probably play Michael on Rocca, Ryder on Cloke, NLM on Medhurst and start Fletcher up forward yes it would rob us off our drive off the HBF but big Laycock has been so ordinary up forward and it would surprise the pies.

Personaly I think that Forwards don't really need to be that fit to play, especially most Forward players that just stand in the square and wait for the perfect moment to lead!!

(Most the time, Lloyd would always play out the full 4 quarters for us, no sweat!)

OMG, You are ________! That explains alot!

They need to be able to lead and create space every time we are attacking. Think about how many times even in a qaurter that we are running forward looking for options, if Neagle was "blown up" all he would be achieving is taking up space that Lloyd needs.....

I really want to see him get a game as well but he is underdone.... we will have to persist with the resting ruckman or throw Ryder/Fletcher up forward as a temp tactic.

I agree, I think Neagle is that type of player who will never be 100 fit%, didn't seem to stop Dunstall and Lockett:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Settle down you two.
Ins: J Johnson
Out: Slattery (very poor last week)

Stick with the big laycock i reckon. We dont have a decent solution so weve just got to hope he comes good.
