Didn't want to disappoint you, Stiffy, but he has been dropped (what the ****?). Looks like will be going early to Adelaide on Saturday.

Bock is playing.
Agree with this conclusion.

So it is likely to be: IN: Reilly, OUT: Burns.

Correct Stiffy. Both Reilly & Mattner have been named for Sturt. Rutten to travel as an emergency as Westies have the bye. Forecast is for wintery conditions, so going in too tall & taking a tall as an emergency! Hope 1 of our smalls doesn't pull out, or we could end up with our tallest team ever.

I've seen the sides this morning and we are going in unchanged. I am not overly happy with this. As you say we are going in too tall and if one of the smalls pulls out with an injury then we are screwed.

I must say I am not overly happy with selections.

I agree with u Stiffy, we are already top heavy for a game that is going to be wet and windy with showers on and off. All those talls wont help our game at all and keeping Bock in only his 2nd game ina CRUCIAL game for us is not the answer IMO. Someone with experience in the wet, and at Skilled stadium is needed and Burns is the man. Keep Burns drop Bock and promote another SMALLER player which for mine would be Reilly. NO way should Rutten play, theres another tall and MATTNER??!! How he was included in the squad is beyond mine. He has talent but has been pretty average for Sturt so far. Good tackler I'll give him that.

Should be a close one. Crows by 5 points

I didnt see tonights news.

Have there been any late withdrawals from tomorrows side?

It looks like they have taken all three emergencies to Geelong.

I went to see Centrals belt Sturt and I dont think Reilly and Mattner were out there. If they were I didnt see 'em. Apologies if I missed them. However, Sturt weren't first to the ball that often today, so they were easy to miss.

Sturt probably wished they had them, because they got smashed early. All over for the DB's by quarter time. Matt Smith is still a hack and a waste of a rookie spot.

Good luck to the Crows tomorrow!

Yeah saw Mattner on the ABC coverage, playing like Marty Mattner.

He was there alright - got a tick for attendance.

I saw Reilly sitting on the bench on the TV coverage in the 2nd quarter, and they said he wouldn't be back on the ground for the day, and he wasn't.

Sadly, I think he must have copped a fair injury for that to be the case. Hope it's not that quad strain again. :(

Rutten was the only one of the 3 emergencies to travel with the squad, but won't be required.

Speaking on the phone to our special Reilly correspondent Radar at the ground, the analysis is a bruised hip. Looked in an awful lot of pain, and in her words; "Please not another 8 week injury!"

This would be Reilly's third injury against SANFL opposition in about 12 months?

Maybe we should just promote him straight back into the side next time.

Personally I think he should have come straight into the Crows at the expense of Bock, and maybe he wouldn't have got another injury.

Stiffy's right though - he's going to have to learn how to protect himself better.

 Whats that mean.
Personally I cannot understand the vitriol towards Mattner. Yes last year was ordinary. Played role of tagger with no real idea - but that's coaches decision and a tough on the job learning experience for Marty.
Apparently he was best for Sturt again, yet receives no recognition from the board.
He is still young (3rd year of football), I like his attitude and attack on the ball and player, and we have been far more forgiving of players with less talent?

Think your thoughts on replacing Bock after one performance, puts that performance in perspective, and correctly so.

He is a good tackler and goes in hard but he doesn't have the skills or the footy brain to be a good AFL player.
