I'm yet to write-off Mattner for AFL footy, as think it is too ealy. At least he is playing decent footy for Sturt & if he keeps that up, we should try him out for a few games before year's end, to see whether he stays on our list or not.

I'm not a real Mattner fan because he has never played very intelligently when he has had a chance at this level.

However the one thing he doesn't lack is guts and courage. I wouldn't mind seeing him have a few games in the weeks to come to sort out whether he stays or goes at year end.

give the Crows another couple of weeks, then we'll have all the time in the world to find out that the likes of Mattner, Shirley, Skipworth etc are all crap.

You will probably be proven right. But we have to make a decision on many players' futures before the year end, as our list needs a fair turnover come trade and draft time.

The 3 that you mentioned are all very marginal players and should be given some opportunity to put their case for retention, and that can only happen by playing games.

There were many pieces of crap running around wearing Crows jumpers yesterday. It's dubious whether these 3 would have performed as badly as some that did play did.

They might have actually tried for a start.

Ha! :( My words exactly. Not good at all. There must be a jinx with Central District. In his comeback match last year he broke a collarbone in the opening minutes and was out for 8 weeks. The team, Central blo0dy Districts. Now he's injured again against the same team. And also in the opening minutes.

He can't buy an injury free season :(

Can't see him proving his worth if he keeps getting injured all the time. He will surely go back to Sturt again and then get injured again...and again...and again. :( *cries*

Like Stiffy said, Someone needs to teach him how NOT to get injured in a contest. Either it be someone from sturt or the crows.

Speaking of injuries, here is this week's AFC injury list

Player Injury Expected Return
Scott Welsh Adductor Test
Scott Stevens Ankle Test
Ben Hart Hamstring 1 week
Josh Krueger Back 1 week
Brent Reilly Hip 1 week
Simon Goodwin Groin 1 week
Chris Ladhams Ankle 1-2 weeks
Mark Stevens Knee 2 weeks
Jason Torney Knee 2 weeks

Scott Stevens is a worry. If he doesnt come up I would say Rutten would get his chance.

Should be a fair few Crows coming back via the SANFL in the next couple of weeks.

Lets hope that doesn't get pushed up to 6 weeks again. Hopefully he will get over it and make the most of the year. Not that I am expecting much after such a long lay off.

Just had to stay sound & he would have been back in the side this week. We need JT back soon as he is one of those quiet achievers that gets the job done with minimum fuss.
