My cold humble pie doesn't taste too good either!

Just shows that you can't take anything for granted in this game and what happens when you come up against a team who is motivated to play for a club legend.

Looking forward to an injection of pace and class with Hill, Ballas and hopefully Walters after the bye, as we looked very slow and pedestrian out there today.

Precisely. This loss won't necessarily cost us anything if we win the three 8 point games we have coming up.
 
I got real pi$$ed not seeing any change to our style even after 3 qtrs of being humped with no lube .
Why wasn't there instruction to go 1 on 1 when we're copping a belting ?
So many times we'd just zone up and they'd slice us apart from defence all the way through - it was like watching a freo v hawks game.
Particularly frustrated with that effort of Luke mc when he didn't even bother JOGGING after Stanley for the recurve off the chip kick in 3rd qtr...
Luke looked cooked from the very get-go, WTF were we thinking playing him ...

Deep breath, deep breath...ok, we take this on the chin, realise it's a good reality check, improve and move on.

We all love this bloody club and it can be one big emotional rollercoaster at times, let's charge for the rest of the year now.

Geelong in Geelong and Hawthorn back-to-back. I hope the boys will be raging and into it from the start. Coz man will Geelong be filthy to beat us from last year. North Melbourne play Geelong a few days after we play Carlton and don't forget Hawks play Sydney next week. But man right now, top 2 spot up for grabs with bow and robbins and somehow Lyon still goes out and goes "That's not the priority right now..." FFS can we play our BEST 22 every week! Bye next week, give it 110% get the 4 points and rest up.. Now it's a different scernario, but for me it shows so many players who shouldn't wear the Freo Guernsey for the rest of the season due to attitude/fitness levels.
 
I'm calm.

We're a handy team, maybe even a good team. Performances like this today though do sort us from the best.
We're not out of the race for the flag but we're going to need some luck to get to the big dance - results that favour us, catching teams at the right time will be a start.
 
Well.......that was unexpected.

St Kilda wanted it more ...perhaps a nice reality check.

Formula stays the same moving forward ....win games of football and Hawks & Ports are must wins.

I thought last year we had a great chance. We played an fantastic finals series bar a bout of nerves. I was dissapointed because we had great momentum. This year the form levels are not as high and the signs are not as good, even disregarding today. Our team is not stabilised, Mcpharlin looks to have hit a physical wall and he has always been integral to our success. Walters was our x factor and most creative force and to rely on him to put forward the same output this late is wishful thinking. Our recruits have not made a significant difference and our depth (re Peel) is not high level. I am happy with what we have produced so far but my football intuition is saying we may finish 4th or 5th. I think the Hawks and the Swans have us covered in talent.
 
we were actually in Melbourne tonight, en route from Cairns. We had tried to change our flights to make it to the game, but it wasn't possible (we had booked this holiday back in January before the fixtures were out.

We got off the plane at 5pm EST in Melbourne and couldn't believe what was happening - glad we didn't get to go to the game now!
