Vs NM marks I50 - 13
Vs Ess marks I50 - 25

Average for 2025 - 11.74
Average for 2024 - 13.11
Average for 2023 - 13.12
The lowering of the eyes and honouring the leads is noticeable.

It will take a few more weeks and some tougher opposition to see just how much it has improved.

I went to the pre game Club 1870 function. 10am start is a bit of a shocker, but its probably good for staff allocation as a 12am game time start means the crowd will be below season average. MC was one of the producers at SEN who occasionally fills in. Know the face but not his name.

Anybody else on here attend?

There were current players Ollie Lord, Benny Barrett and Piper Window who got interviewed and Toby Thurstans and Elijaz Ware said a few words and drew the raffle and gave away 3 or 4 prizes. The main attraction was Charlie Dixon.

It was one of the better player interviews and it looks like Charlie has locked himself into living long term in the Adelaide Hills. Said he expected to do his 5 years or so with Port then move back to Queensland. Looks very fit still.

He said one thing that staggered me and and the couple of other blokes on my table.

He said he was regularly told not to lead for the ball, he talked about the instructions and said he was frustrated because he loved nothing more than doing long leads to the flank and wing and taking those kicks from defence, even if they were rushed long bail out kicks.

I said to the blokes on my table, no wonder we were such a hard team to watch at times and our conversion for I50s was so low, when you tell the FF not to lead.

I wonder how much this has to do with not having another viable option in the forward 50.

Charlie goes wandering out onto the wing, turns around and has nobody to kick it to. Or Charlie doesn't mark it, and we go another direction, and there's no target inside 50.

Probably no worse coached player in our history. Could have been a genuine star.

Probably no worse coached player in our history. Could have been a genuine star.

He was so dominant that even under a Hinkley coached team he made All-Australian and was the unquestionable #1 power KPF of the comp for a few years.

I would suggest his somewhat underwhelming overall production over his career was due in part to physical issues and mental fragility.

This makes me so angry
