but only just...and i dont thin kthey deserved it either to be honest.
We played complete s**t football for three quarters, and had arguably
our best quarter in the AFL in the third. We played like 2000 Port in
three quarters...overly defensive, undecisive short kicks.
But, the third quarter...what a ripper!! Lockwood kicked a good
goal...Dew kicked the goal he missed last week, Francis kicked a
trademark 50m running goal from the outer boundary. Cornes took a big
grab and goal. Great quarter.
The thing that jacked me off the most tho, was Brisbane were so damn
loose all the damn time. Akermanis, Voss, Hart especially ran wild in
the middle of the ground. I was spitting chips in the first half, it
was a joke. Some players that played well tho:
Schofield, who not many people like, played an absolute blinder,
kicked a great "eddie hocking" goal. He was probably are best player.
Primus, controlled the ruck around the ground again, and played a
great game.
Brent Guerra, played a great game as well...kicked three good goals,
and was probably one of our top three players.
Cockatoo Collins played one of his best games in the AFL in his 100th
game.
Paxman played a reasonable game in defence...Francis did well all
night. Josh Carr was one of our bette rplayers as well...and tagged
Voss to the bench.
Francou, altho not doing much for the whole night, was probably our
main playmaker in the third quarter.
Nick Stevens had a fairly quiet game, but what he did was good.
Burgoyne, Wilson, Dew, Cornes, Montgomery, Wanganeen and Wakelin all
played uninspiring games, and didnt have anything to do with the game
basically for the whole night.
Thats a good sign tho...We played a team who 99% of football journo's
and critics have tipped to be in the top 4 this year....we played like
absolute crap for 3 quarters, yet we still won in the end. That is a
good sign...as if we played better and manned up, then we would of won
by a lot more.
Full credit to Brisbane tho, they played better and probably deserved
to win, they came out firing, and played great footy. Well done to
them.
To all the Port doubters...the real stuff ahs started...and we still
won so
