Cornes in the media is growing on me. Like him calling out the Vic bias.

Noting also there seems to be SA groundswell to ‘call out Vic bias’

We should be joining that party.

FMD - seeing soft cap wasn’t increased coz Minnow clubs.

AFL need to stop supporting minnow clubs at the expense of the whole competition.
Was it confirmed soft cap isn't increasing?

Genuine shambles this competition, dragging the rest of the comp down to the level of a couple of rabbles who rely on handouts to survive, what an amateur league.

We're hard to get a read on to be fair.

We've played 3 of the top 4 (1-2) and also 2 of the bottom 3 (2-0 thankfully!). Along with some middle-of-the-road teams.

Take the Geelong loss out and we have been pretty good (even during parts of the saints loss), but fair enough the media (and especially Geelong supporters) doubting our credentials at this stage.

If we can get a win this week, other games are to our advantage (with Dogs v Port and Giants v Tigers). Short of a draw, 2 teams in our region of the ladder will drop 4 points this week (could add Geelong v STK to the list also).

All fair, but our draw is panning out nicely at the moment. After the bye we get the Demons, Bulldogs & Tigers all at Optus + still have one to come against Adelaide & Collingwood on the road, as well as Norf at Optus.

If win win our last four before the bye (Carlton & GWS on the road) we will be well amongst it.

If we manage to win all of the above we can afford to drop the Sydney & Brisbane games and that should still be enough to make the top 4 you’d think.

Cornes is the shockjock equivalent of the football media. Occasionally he'll hit the target but generally it's a steady stream of bullshit that dribbles out of his mouth.

Caro refusing to acknowledge Richmond's ridiculous advantage through the draw isn't hugely surprising, she's a massive Richmond fan after all.

Whatever Cornes says, it's moulded to rustle some jimmies. What I'm enjoying about his voice lately is that it carries nationally, and he's rustling the Vic jimmies instead of ours. We get ours rustled by the rest of the media so may as well back him when he swings it in our favour.

If we decide to keep Willie, looks like he will be ready to go this year.
Assuming we don't impose a club sanction.

AFL backs Rioli to return as twin blockbusters fixtured for Perth

AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan said on Friday the league would not stand in the way of Willie Rioli’s return to action after the Eagle’s guilty plea for drug possession in Darwin on Wednesday.

His comments on Melbourne radio come after West Coast coach Adam Simpson said the club would make a decision on the 25-year-old’s future next week after consultation with its stakeholders, players, and the AFL.

The backing of the AFL chief was further good news for the club after blockbuster fixtures at Optus Stadium against reigning premiers Richmond and 2021 contenders Western Bulldogs were scheduled over rounds 13-15.
McLachlan told 3AW on Friday the AFL’s Integrity Unit wouldn’t investigate Rioli further and said Wednesday’s court hearing revealed all the information that was required.

Rioli could resume training with West Coast on June 20, just days after the two most recent premiers clash under the lights of Optus Stadium in a round 14 Thursday night blockbuster, before the Eagles host the barnstorming Bulldogs the following Sunday afternoon.

Wait, two home games, against fellow contenders, at home, with a ten day break between games? Do my eyes deceive me?

Take as many day games as we can. Suits us much, much more.

A saturday game coming from the Thursday game would be just as good a break and would give us an extra day to play with break wise down the track. Eagles v Dogs Saturday night should have been the go (although we are more likely to win during the day on Sunday).

West Coast are team always vying for finals , we spark interest on the East coast because they wanna see their opposition . Because they are on the East coast a 2 hour time difference a Sunday Eagles game is so attractive to watch . Kick back relax Sunday night . It must be pretty good ratings . Yes an Eagles Friday night game will rate but then the media miss a Sunday windfall .
We might as well embrace Sunday games and somehow work this into a positive . We probably pick up a lot of East Coast fans because we own Sunday evenings .

But he said the criticism played no part in the change. Naitanui said focusing on taking marks would take him away from his real job during games.

“If I want to run around and get some little hit-up marks around the ground, I can do that,” Naitanui explained on ABC Radio.

“I can tap Andrew Gaff on the shoulder and ask him to look for that. But for me, it’s getting the work done around stoppage.

“Dean Cox has instilled in me early days to master my craft and tap the ball. If I can make Tim Kelly and those guys look good, I don’t really give a crap what I look like.

“I don’t listen to it. I play the way I play. I’ve been playing for 13 or 14 years now and that’s the way I’ve got by. I don’t pay too much respect to it.

“For me, it’s good to know that there are different ways of playing but I know my role in the team and that keeps me in good stead.”

Spot on. If nicnat tried to play like Gawn and Grundy running the length of the ground to take marks he would be knackered at stoppages where's his explosive athleticism as a ruck is unmatched in the history of the game.

Karl Langdon and other WA media who criticise Nicnat can get stuffed. They just want the Vic's approval which highlights their own insecurity for wanting to be liked.

Of all our past players who commentate our games , he is the worst! He is stuck in the 90's with the knowledge of the game.

Look him not following his opponent when they push forward does annoy me at time but when you have guys like Gov/tb/hurn in defence, you don't need to plug holes in defence. We also one of the best wingmen in Gaff that does a lot of the link up marks and now we also have Brander too. We also have the likes of JK/Allen/JD that are very good contested marks that can and do take big marks at Half forward and on the win. We don't need Nic Nat to be anything more than what he is atm and I think it's just lazy journalism to highlight his weaknesses like that.

Good to see JD getting some love on 360 tonight.

On the other hand, they show Toby Greene getting his shoulder broken. Tackled on the goaline and absolutely smashed in the back.

Not even a free kick.
He gets crucified by the umps.
Absolute filth, Broads sole intention was try and hurt his opponent, shit umpiring.
