I will never have an issue with a club who is in a window trying to win the flag for a few years. I do have an issue that it has taken 3 years of non committment and poor performances from the players and coaches to get to where we are now, this should of all been seen a year and a half ago.
I think on the Couch asked one good question, Why? We can all see it, the club can see it surely yet no one is providing an answer why the players are turning up not interested and putting in the effort they are. Something must be very wrong. But what is it?

Much easier when your players actually try and put in their best effort. You are half way there when that happens

Agreed. And also agreed with Reiwoldts comments that it's hard to judge the effectiveness of the game plan when the players aren't putting in consistent effort.

Well done to the boys on the couch this week, finally gave us a lot of air time for a change. All negative as it was.
Nailed a lot of what is going on and basically it comes down to pure laziness by a few players which then puts extra pressure on everyone else down the line.
The biggest question was why is there no effort or want from the playing group. Where is it? Why do they just choose to play when they want?

Well done to Healy giving Hurn an extra good for his career and his 300th. As he said his team mates couldn't do anything for him so at least he got a shout out from the couch.

So 56% of the league's clubs have record membership. And there's a record high media rights deal. But the clubs are still not profitable? Something's wrong with the business model here.

Club membership can be chearp and doesnt include venue entry. I live in Sydney and have Victorian membership - it is all that is available. It isn't a huge cost but we also get nothing effectively for it.
I have had 3 game Swans membership because with a free cap and public transport it is still cheaper that ground entry.
Money is only in corporate activities.

No prize for guessing who.
Hard to argue as well.

Jordan Lewis has named West Coast as the most disappointing team in the AFL this season.
The Eagles sit seventh on the ladder going into the final leg of the year, but have fallen far below the top four and premiership expectations of the pre-season.

They have been inconsistent performers across the season, suffering big losses to the likes of Collingwood, Geelong and Sydney while dropping a home game to the 18th placed North Melbourne

“I think that’s been their greatest challenge. Everyone points to them winning a premiership in 2018 playing this way, well we won a premiership in 2008 and tried to play the same way for the next three years and it didn’t come with any success."

Nailed it, blind Freddy can see it now

The reigning premiers are outside the top 8 with a 8-11 win/loss record and we’re the most disappointing team.

OK

That’s not so say we haven’t been disappointing because we most certainly have but the demise of the team of the century outranks it surely

Nah, Richmond players are dropping like flies whereas we've supposedly nearly got our best team to choose from and have gotten worse since earlier in the year.

It's definitely us that are far more disappointing than Richmond, irrespective of ladder positions.

I think the analysis is based, rightly or wrongly, on the fact that Richmond have nothing left to prove. Whereas the groupthink is that we do.

Did they name some of the lazy players?

I mean this is clearly not true, not after the injunction.

WILLIE TO REMAIN IN PERTH

Willie Rioli will remain in Perth to train and devote himself to his AFL career over most of summer after missing a Round 23 return to football because of a minor hamstring strain.

The Eagles had hoped to play Rioli after his lengthy ban for tampering with a urine sample but instead he pulled up sore during the week of his imminent AFL return.

They have handed him a one-year deal and he will have to prove himself again but he is the exactly the kind of dynamic pressuring forward they need in their side after missing finals this year.

He will return to Darwin to see his wife and kids over the break but is determined to show he is devoted to the club and his career.

Liam Duggan will re-sign at West Coast despite some Victorian interest.

But as with many players across the competition who might have hoped for major pay rises because of significant rival interest the money just isn’t there to launch raids at players of his stature.
