Gerard Healy mentioning Jamie Cripps as a potential all Australian. Might be a strech, but always enjoy Gerard's knowledge and appreciation of our team
100% agree that he isn't an AA. Im just happy that someone from the media acknowledges our team/playersNot AA worthy but there are slim pickings for small forwards this year. Breust is the only one who has a strong claim.
Does a lot more than Hoskin-Elliott for example who has been mentioned for a HF spot.
... and can differentiate between Rioli and Ryan, which is apparently super difficult
This is something I find is sitting less and less comfortably with me as time goes on.
The whole industry can mouth the right platitudes at the right time but continually making this mistake and showing no apparent intention to remedy the situation paints a less inclusive picture.
My 6 years olds can reliably tell these guys apart during the telecast, what excuse do the commentators have? Surely professional pride would kick in at some point if you kept calling the wrong players?
It becomes increasingly harder to not see the message as - it doesn't matter, it's not a big deal. Its a message of casual racism. It's something that is so deeply ingrained that it doesn't even trigger the perpetually offended, SJWs or whatever you want to label that type.
I reckon that it is a pretty shit message to get beamed into our living rooms to represent an iconic national pastime at anyrate.

It helps to have no...uh, insulation... up there.Hurn on AFL tonight, geez I respect him, so cool headed and well spoken
Are the commentators watching the telecast or are they looking at the field? I sit up in level 5 and occasionally get them confused from a distance when I can't see their numbers. They are a similar height and have been wearing the same coloured shoes, so it makes it hard to tell them apart at times. This is something I find is sitting less and less comfortably with me as time goes on.

c'mon man one is absolutely skinny but ripped, the other looks like an ammo. Are the commentators watching the telecast or are they looking at the field? If they're just watching the TV stream then there is no excuse.
Up close there's no problem, their features are completley different for a start. 300m away makes it a bit harder with other players in the way.c'mon man one is absolutely skinny but ripped, the other looks like an ammo.
Yeah I tend to agree. Are the commentators watching the telecast or are they looking at the field? No abuse, thanks, but my 92 year old mother-in-law and hard core WCE supporter refers to our indigenous trio as our ‘darkies’. [emoji849] Different times, I guess ...

Not really insightful but at least it's nice they decide to revisit their predictions and own up to the stuff ups.
