Pretty weak argument, "The Earth is Flat" as an argument lasted a lot longer before it was challenged.

That's a myth anyway. People have known for thousands of years that the earth was round. Flat earthers were always in the minority.

An earth-centric universe was definitely a common belief.

I think you've misunderstood what Mario was saying.

He was saying that ID and Christianity are not the same thing, and that some people on the evolution side of things, will deliberately raise Christian Fundamentalist arguments, and easily discredit them (because they are easily discredited), and attempt to use that as an argument against ID.

No one contesting ID has brought christianity into it. They have just countered every point they have been given.

This may be abit close minded on my part but i would think less of a person if i found out that they believed in intelligent design.

It would mean that they had completely ignored a huge amount of scientific evidence so they can continue to believe in creationism which has apsolutely no scientific evidence to back it up.

If you ignore scientific fact (which evolution is) then you are either stupid or incredibly delusional.

Don't think badly of them...they are just occupying a lower rung on the evolutionary ladder than the rest of us.

That's fine. But your arguments sound similar. Humanity must have had an ID to get it where it is. I disagree. Many other animals have been able to survive longer than we have yet for some reason we seem to think that we were designed and given purpose. I just don't see it.
