went back and had a look at the statistics before the bye and after the bye. Interesting little fact I noticed that before the bye we always had more than 115 interchanges while after the bye we had 110 tonight with the lowest at 105 against the Hawks and 115 against Freo.
This can't be a coincidence as I don't believe that Bux would leave these things to chance. Thoughts anyone? Why the low rotation count?

Because in tight games its not always easy (or prudent) to make too many changes to structures that are keeping you in the game. Our aerobic fitness is also improved to a point where not as many of our midfielders (eg Crisp and Sidebottom) need as many breaks.

Perhaps trying to keep the better players on the ground longer, or even those players taking the responsibility on themselves to stay out there longer

Unless I'm mistake I think the players generally control 90% of the rotations during the game, they simply come off when they need a rest except for when a coach specifically has a plan for someone or at the breaks

So the senior players are carrying the young ones?

I think its called leadership.

Most players would be well aware of when they need a spell and act accordingly.

I've also noticed since the bye that Pendles and Swanny are spending more time in the forward line, often swapping each other out to give Blair or Broomhead time on the ball.

Maybe there is something to it, maybe not.
