Safari has more then natural ability on his side!
Where did Safari finish in the MV Cup?
Where did he finish in the Tassie Inter CONSOLATION, BAF won the actual final!
Safari, needs to be in the first2horse throughout. BAF doesnt even race at his best when in front!
But BAF still beat Safari.

Winning a race at any level requires luck in the draw and in the running.

Smashing the MV track record by 1.1 seconds running a 1:56 and a final split in 55.7 last 800 takes a sensational horse.

BAF has gone faster than Safari as a 2yo, 3yo and so many more times as an older horse. It also matched what safari did last week but working harder early than safari had to. ;)

Safari isn't fit to roll in BAF's manure.

And yet you still seem to avoid the fact Safari sat in the death at Ballarat while BAF had the pole and beat him in track record time.

Why is that?

because Natalie made an error.

they've all figured out safari. even Lance has figured out what to do on an inferior horse to beat the fairweather flop.

He will only win if he draws 1 or 2 against the big guns now.

I'm tempted to almost call you clueless.

Nobody denies BAF is a champ, but to say a horse who can reel off slick sectionals in elite company and win is a flop is a joke.

But hey better judges than you or I rate Safari an elite class horse, which says a lot about how little you know when it comes to rating a horse obviously.

country cups mean nothing.

if you don't win the big ones when your supposedly the challeger to the crown your a flop.

what were the 3 biggest races in Vic in the carnival.

MV Cup - flop
Hunter Cup - flop
Interdominion - flop

not even one placing for the fairweather flop.

smoken up is a better big time horse than catari.

I think a few of you are being a bit harsh on Safari, surely there are only so many gut busters a horse can go through?? I'd have thought the run the previous week may have taken its toll - on both occassions.

Sat in the death and accounted for BAF at Ballarat, then a week later ran fourth in the Hunter Cup. Had a track record gut buster at MV last week, then fourth again in the Inter final. Maybe they'd have been better keeping some petrol in the tank for the biggest races.

Yes because finishing 4th in the Hunter Cup and Inter Domin final after sitting in the death in both races is a flop

You are full of shit.

Smoken Up has had good barrier draws and either got to the lead easy or had a cheap run behind the leader.

I doubt it would fare as well sitting in the death while pouring on the pressure to carve out a fast time at the same time.

You must just look at the results in the paper on a monday because the shit you talk you sure as hell haven't been watching Safari's races.

And who would that horse be thats having the throat op that would supposedly beat him

No I didn't say he would beat him just that Slip N Slide is one of the few along with Safari who has a slight chance of beating him. Actually they're probably the only 2 horses in the land who could do it.

Huh?

Safari is a tougher horse than BAF.

BAF has had all the favours in the Hunter Cup then got the barrier draw in the Inter final.

On the flip side Safari has had to work his ab****e guts out in both major races and finished close up 4th in both races.

There's not a horse in the land that could finish so close up(even BAF) after absolute gut busting runs in elite fields like Safari has.

Reverse the inter draw and BAF doesn't get near Safari.
Well i certainly wasn't having a go at Safari but it is well known that he races better out in front. BAF on the other hand races better from behind but as has shown many times can come from anywhere.

Your comments on the Hunter Cup are very strange to say the least.
BAF was off 30 meters.

Anyway i certainly wasn't having a go at Safari as he is a fine horse just saying that BAF has confirmed his standing as one of the all time greats.
I really can't see how anyone can doubt that.

You are probably right in that he's done too much work in certain races that might have left him a bit flat for the next task.

Though the debarcle with the quarentine in Geelong before the Hunter Cup wouldn't have helped there.

I suppose because of his toughness and ability to carve out time they like to get him up near the front and in clear running to avoid getting bottled up and hoping for the right run to come in time.

Standing start races with handicaps have far less impact over longer distance races.

Granted you can't give away big starts over the shorter trips, but a longer journey it's at times beneficial to be further back because you have more time to steady up and are better sighted than horses off 10m who have to contend with front markers galloping away and falling back into them.

As I said earlier everyone knows BAF is a champ, I just take issue with someone who labels one of the countries best horses a flop.
