After the Hunter Cup version, series 2 will take place for the Sydney Interdoms.

Selected horses will earn money on 4x $40'000 heats at Harold Park Fri 19/2, 4x $40'000 heats at Newcastle Sat 27/2 and the $1Million Interdom Final at Menangle on Sun 7/3. Horses that fail to qualify for the final can also earn in the $60'000 Consolation.

Stables will consist of 4 different horses. That is, 3 horses and 1 additional STABLE STAR. Stable Stars cost twice the advertised price, but earn twice the cash.

This comp will also introduce the option to TRADE. You will get just ONE trade for the whole competitetion to be used whenever you want (except for when a meeting is in progress). If you wish to change your stable star to a different horse in your stable, this will count as your trade. You can however swap an underperforming stable star for a new horse, which will then be your stable star.

For your 3horses + 1stable star you have 100points to spend. Points have been allocated by the order of entry.

G'Day guys

Monkey King 40 pts. 80pts *Stable Star*
Havabonvoyage 14 pts.
Few Good Men 4 pts.
Ohoka Utah 2 pts.

Total 100 pts.

At the risk of sounding negative. This would have to be the worst Inter fields ever assembled. Some of these horses would not even get a run in a local FFA. Monkey King by a long way!!!

I was thinking similar. When you got a horse like Cincinnati Kid ranked 6th you know it will be a weak event. I don't mean to knock Cincinnati Kid as it has been a consistant horse for a very long time now but to put it into perpective it has never qualified for an Interdom final.

My selections anyway:

Baileys Dream 31pts x 2 = 62
Can't Bluff Me 21
Hava Bonvoyage 14
Ohoka Utah 2

Total 99 points.

I say Monkey King will get found out this series. I am not an avid follower of harness so I can by no means put a professional opinion forward, but from what I have read about the style of racing this horse does, he has landed in sweet spots in all his races and from awkward draws, aka a large chunk of luck factor. Not saying he needed it, but would be interested to see him tested. Maybe leading up a 3 wide trail, etc....

Nobody had a top 5 finisher, so just the consolation $480 also ran prize.
Berwic and Western Royboy had Ohoka Utah as their stable stars so take the early lead on $960.
Everyone else had either Ohoka Utah or Tee Pee Village and pick up $480 except for 27/9/08(HawksFan) who didnt have a runner.

Western Royboy actually had the outright lead - he also has Karloo Mick in his stable who picked up a cool $1600.
After the 2nd heat and the Blacks A Fake fans will shoot up the ladder.
Bloods, who also has Awesome Armbro as his stable star, shoots up to $36480 with just 1 to come and is in front. Biglaycock had the place getters including OAA as Stable Star to climb to 2nd spot with 1 runner to come. Barwick is close up with $20960 while I had Blacky and bring my total to $20480. Wester Royboy stays on $2560 with no runners while the rest are on 480.

J Train was actualy just ahead of the tailing bunch prior to heat 3, he had two also rans and was on $960.
Heat 3 and Pecker almost trifectad it, Monkey King as stable star, Hava Bonvoyage and Few Good Men (4th) brings him up to $51680.
Hot on his heels is Barwick on $49860. Close up next is myself on $41440 side by side with 27/9/08'Hawker' on $40960. Just behind is Bloods on $36480.
A bit of a gap to Stressless on $21440 close up with Biglaycock on $21280. Not far away is J Train $18560, then its AS9 on $8480 and also needing to lift is the early leader now last place getter Western Royboy om $2560.
Positive for Western Royboy is he has two left as does AS9.
Biglaycock, Bloods, Hawker and Stressless also have one more to cheer on.

1. Pecker $51680
2. Barwick $48960
3. 27/9/08 Hawker $42560
4. Carlton Blue $41440
5. Bloods $36960
6. Stressless $26240
7. Biglaycock $21760
=8. J Train $18560
=8. AS9 $18560
10. Western Royboy $11040

Pecker and Hawker (as Ive nicknamed him) cheered louder than any when their Stable Star Monkey King saluted to give them a big boost tonight. Biglaycock and Bloods also found their Stable Star useful with Awesome Armbro running second. Finding two heat winners in their stable proved handy for Barwick and Carlton Blue. Stressless was the other stable with a heat winner. J Train and AS9 can both improve but the early leader Western Royboy must have started too well and hasnt stopped galloping since.
