Mark Williams did nothing amazing with Goodes. There were hardly any taggers going around, and the game wasn't very accountable. Unsurprisingly, as Goodes has been tagged to the ground all year, Goodes thrived on it. I'm so glad this game happened though, as it might just have brought Goodes' confidence back up to the sky high level it needs to be for him to rip games apart for us. We might all know that he's pretty close to Jesus in terms of importance to the world, but sometimes he forgets, and this might just have reminded him.

Apart from it being Bomber Thompson you're right.... As he said.... He just let Goodes have free reign over what he did because he's a dual brownlow medalist and an out and out Champion. He probably benefited from not getting the number one tagger but still showed tonight he is a cut above (most of) the best the game has to offer. People say Pavlich is the most versatile player in the game....pffffft!!

I thought all the Swans players had good games.

Goodes - Was very good, set up 2 goals, saved several with marks inside the defensive 50 and looked very dangerous whenever he had the ball.
Bolton - Marked Brown most of the night and for the most part Brown was reasonably quite so i put that down as a win for Bolton.
Kirk - Tackled alot, scored a goal and setup another goal with a clever kick to a unmarked team mate. He also had quite a good game.
O'Keefe - A rather quite game but he did kick that beautiful set shot goal from around 50 metres out which left me wondering about why he couldnt do that when playing for the Swans.

Gotta say it was frustrating seeing RoK kick that beautiful goal from outside the 50, and seeing Kirk snap that goal in the last!

Was a pretty entertaining game all up, people are whining about how little it meant but what does it matter - it was called an Exhibition game for a reason, and showcased some immaculate skills.

Goodes is having a screamer of a game at the moment. Does anyone else think that Paul Roos could learn from how Mark Williams is playing him at the moment?
You've changed your tune ;)

Yeah, I screwed up.

That one devastated me too. Considering his inability this year to kick goals from 20-40m out directly in front, seeing a perfect kick like that when he wasn't playing for us was shattering.

Glad none of them got hurt, though Bolton could have easily been.

Goodes was great for Victoria and Kirk had a solid 2nd half.

I thought Brown beat Bolton in the air to be honest and just his kicking didn't show up on the stats. But Rutten was worse on Fev.

O'Keefe was patchy for the vics.

But the best bit is they should all be there next week.

Goodes was definately the standout from our club, probably in the Vic's top 3 or 4. He went missing at times, particuarly in the first quarter, but was really damaging when he got near it. If only he could avoid a close tag every week!

You never see much of Kirk, so much in and under stuff. I believe he was playing on Mitchell. Solid game as far as I can tell.

Bolton was beaten, as were most of the backs. Such an open game with superb forwards and impeccable delivery was always going to handicap the defense. I actually didn't see his clash with Brown, was it a doozey?

O'Keefe was quiet, worked hard up and down the ground as always, just didn't get his hands on it enough.

Would have loved to see Kenelley play, he would have had a ball without the typical close checking.

The hit on Bolton was brutal but he didn't even go off?!?! Shame Kerr didn't play the game out, I would have liked to see him punch someone in the nuts, it's great entertainment.

ROK's kick for goal was splendid but at the same time very frustrating. Initally I thought he'd miss seeing as his set shots for goal this season has been woeful.

The snap from Kirk looked a lot like the snap against the Roos.

When he lined up to kick it I knew he'd kick it .. no pressure for him to kick, really, knowing that if he didn't there were 6+ other players that'd nail it.

He's a victim of the Forward Line Famine at the Swans in 2008.
