Been a while since I posted anything in here, but the kickstarter for my debut novel goes live next week. If you're interested, go in and click follow. You'll get a notification when the kickstarter goes live (and it helps the algorithm, makes it think I'm popular haha)

Looks interesting. What does the line 'One phone call and you've lost control' refer to?

Thanks :).

It's got a few layers. The novel is about the fight for control of a phone based portal/teleportation technology - where a phone call can take you anywhere in the world, even your enemy's stronghold.

Also, control of that tech hinges on phone calls at least half a dozen times through out the novel, from the opening line to the last.

And also, i thought it sounded cool! And intriguing. Given you (and a few others) have asked about it, I think i was right haha.

Backed.

To be honest, the synopsis didn't engage me, but when I started reading the chapters you've released, I got more and more into the story. I actually stopped at the end of chapter 3 (even though I know 4 chapters were available), because I want to enjoy it all once the book actually arrives!

Oh that's awesome! Thanks so much.

And good feedback on the synopsis - I'm interested to hear if you have any feedback on the synopsis re: what didn't engage you, as I've really struggled with it, and it's not settled until the books get printed haha.

Hello fellow writers.

Be it for leisure, poetry, music, travel or writing your novel. I am looking to hit up others to establish a network where we can share our work, get feedback and discuss ideas that can better our writing. If anyone is also interested, im keen to participate in writing activities as well.

A bit about me.

I have been 3 years into the writing of my novel. (85K words), finished my draft and going through the long and arduous re writes and editing process. I've also started work on a second novel even though I'm yet to submit my first one.

Anyway,

All welcome, hope to hear from you.
That’s a huge milestone finishing a first draft at 85k words, the rewrite is always where the real work happens so I get the struggle.

I'm also into a few different genres and would be down to swap some feedback or just talk process whenever you're around.

Hey mate, i hadnt checked in in awhile so appreciate the contact. Yeah its been a process. I technically never finished my first draft i still had not written the ending of the book. I was trying to come up with a strategic plan to avoid the book becoming long winded as my story could go that way.

Right now though ive been keeping my style but using AI tools to find grammar mistakes and help rewrite sentences to be more cohesive throughout my second draft. My goal is to finish this book totally by July.

Are you published?

So are there any authors on this site?

Ive started writing childrens books as well as well as my main novel. but the question I have is whether I need to find a publishing agent?
There's me, but i'm fairly entrenched in the indie publishing track at the moment.

I think there are a couple of non-fiction authors on the port board, history and true crime, that sort of thing.

I do know that writing children's books is really competitive, and much harder to do as an indie - book store presence is so much more important, so probably an agent will be more important there than for my pulpy tech thrillers.

What's the novel about?
