^^ He is a notable member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.. who opposed proposition 8 (California law against Gay marriages) but funnily enough, Steve Young's mrs, Barbra, has a brother who is actually gay! Nothing a $50,000 of hush money wouldn't fix! :D Young is an attorney as well!

DYK in 2006 was the first time since 1990 that no receivers were taken in the top 20 ! The first to go was Santonio Holmes at #25.

DYK, NE's premium star receiver Wes Welker, who tied the league record for most receptions in 2007 (112), went undrafted in the 2004 NFL Draft.

DYK, in 1948, the Rams became the first team to have a helmet insignia. The distinctive Ram horns were hand-painted onto the helmets by the team's halfback, Fred Gehrke.

DYK, for a year's supply of footballs for the NFL, it takes 3,000 cows to supply the leather.

Football are sometimes called a "pigskin," which makes people think footballs might be made out of pigs. But nope! The NFL's official footballs are made of premium cowhide leather. According to the NCAA, college teams also use leather footballs, but they're a little bit smaller than NFL balls. Younger kids (six to eight years old) use smaller footballs made of rubber. That makes it easier for little hands to grip the ball. Older kids can use footballs made of both rubber and leather, and kids age 13 and up should use an all-leather ball that's the same size as college footballs.

Also heard that Steve Young was the Great Great Grandson of Brigham Young who the uni he went to is named after.

DYK Raiders running back Justin Fargas is the son of actor Antonio Fargas, famous for playing Huggy Bear on the 70's classic series Starsky and Hutch!!

It's good viewing.

To be fair Woodson we did do well in that draft anyway. Pennington, Ellis, Abraham, Becht and Coles were all drafted. Helluva draft class.

Just the 'notion' of actually having 4 x Round 1 picks is one thing but no real bragging rights in a way of Division championships (bar 2002 9-7)/ AFC conference
championship game just leaves that 'notion' unfulfilled. Interestingly RB Thomas Jones got picked up by the Cards before the Jets first pick and also another first rounder, TE Bubba Franks who ended up a Jet in the end. Funny how that happens. With Rex Ryan onboard, who knows, could well be the rise of a Ravens copycat.

DYK the Indianapolis Colts need 12 regular season wins to become the first team in NFL history with seven consecutive 12-win campaigns. They are the only team to accomplish the feat in six consecutive seasons anyway..

Bill Belichick (153) needs nine victories to pass Bill Cowher (161) and 16 wins, to surpass Bud Grant (Vikings fame) to 13th place in most wins by an NFL Coach. Don Shula (Miami fame) leads with 347 in 33 campaigns.

Denver Broncos need to score in their first 14 games to surpass Cleveland (274, 1950-1971) for the second longest scoring streak in NFL history. Broncos current streak began in Nov 30, 1992, (261 atm)

Matt Stover (Ravens) has successfully kicked 389 consecutive points after touchdowns.. longest streak in NFL history.. can he notch 400 without a miss? *chewy on ya boot*

Minnesota D has allowed the LEAST rushing yards in each of the past three seasons.

15 overtime games were played last season & in 2007 with the 2002 season of 25 OT games remaining the NFL record.

Denver & Chicago have each both played in the most OT games. (21 each)
The Texans have NEVER won an OT game. Carolina & Seattle both own dreadful OT records, winning less than 33%.

Buffalo are 91 consecutive games without a OT result. (110 StLouis/Pheonix Cardinals 86-93 hold NFL record)

Re: Interesting facts about the NFL - Did You know:

I guess we'll expect to see Titans players back-flipping all year with TD, sack, INT, and first down celebrations.

Nicks' talent is pretty cool. Bit of an upskirt happening there too!

Titans will have to wait 'til Week 2 for those party tricks as the Steelers won't forget the Titans 'disrespect for the Terrible Towel' in Week 16.. pay for that with a barrage of aggressive blitzing and Smashmouth D. Last team to disrespect the Terrible Towel was Cinci in 2005. And we all know what happened to Keith Rivers.

Some interesting facts about the Terrible Towel..

Proceeds from sales of the Towel have raised over US$2 million for a Pennsylvania school which cares for people with mental *ation and physical disabilities. The Terrible Towel is credited with being the first "rally towel" and its success has given rise to similar products promoting other teams. Numerous versions have been produced; all are black and gold in color with the words "Myron Cope's Official The Terrible Towel" printed on the front.

The Towel made its debut on December 27, 1975 in a playoff game against the Baltimore Colts. Prior to the game, Cope watched the gathering fans through his binoculars from the broadcast booth. Cope, whose idea had been mocked by the local Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, saw less than a dozen towels while players were going through pre-game warm-ups. Cope recalls the event, "Nearing kickoff, the Steelers gathered in their tunnel for introductions, whereupon the crowd exploded—and suddenly, by my estimation, 30,000 Terrible Towels twirled from the fists of fans around the stadium!" The Steelers went on to defeat the Colts 28–10. In the following weeks, the team defeated the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys, to capture the franchise's second consecutive Super Bowl victory. Even while the Steelers struggled through the 1980s, the Towel remained a large part of the franchise.

We all know he’s gonna be in because of last name, 2 rings, and he played in NY. I don’t think anyone thinks he’s a great in talent or play but he has a legacy of beating the 18-0 pats and that’s gonna get him in. Don’t think he should be first ballot tho.

So we all agree he wasn't good, but his team won so he should be in? I don't get it. He was never a great QB
