some interesting freo facts from staurdays west paper if any one didn't see them
-trent croad runs the 400m in 52 seconds
-james walker runs the 100m in 12 seconds
-pound for pound troy longmuir is the strongest player at freo
-troy simmonds has more explosive power than any other docker
-testing has proved jeff farmercan play as a midfielder
-the dockers 2002 end of season trip is to melb for the grand final.plans will change if they r playing
-dale kickett can swim 50m underwater without surfacing
trent croad has been doing this sort of training program for years, he is a powerful athlete, all the players could end up like that
matthew pavlich could also be played in the midfield along with farmer

figures

Just on some of those figures,

12 seconds is slow for 100m, I'd hazard a bet those are rough hand-timed figures, probably punching into a headwind. I'd like to know what Clive ran, under ideal conditions he would surely run sub-11, perhaps even by more than a few tenths.

52 seconds for the 400m is pretty handy (13 second quarters), particulary if he was holding something back for the repeats.

Croad had immense athletic prowess prior to joining Hawthorn, I understand he still holds the draft camp Vertical Leap record. This sort of training allows him to demonstrate his abilities more than other methods.

I'd like to know more on how the strength side of things is going. At a guess I would say Fewster would probably bench the most of any Docker (anyone know who actually does bench the most?), and I could just about guarantee it would be a long way short of the 150-160kg being benched (not repped, I suppose) by McIntosh and Gehrig a few years ago. The Pavlinator might be the man in a few years.

Just a few notes:

WALKER

I ran the 100m, in 12.17 in high school (age 15).

I was only 5th in the final!!!.

So 12 secs isn't very quick.

FARMER

Those tests for farmer, actually found he was so fit, that he would be faster in the midfield than the likes of Salmon, Rehn, Primus, Allen, Porter, Burton, etc. Not exactly all that flash. But his stamina was good, although running five 400m reps at 100% would be a lot harder than five at 90%.

CROAD

He would have been holding back. He could run 48's and 49's while at Hawthorn. Hell, I ran a few 55's. And I'm not exactly the fastest around.
