Great stat!

Assuming each quarter lasts for 30 minutes and the scores that come in red time is 1/3rd of game time, that means we are approximately letting in 1/3rd of our scores against in the last 3rd of each quarter. Surprising. I think we all would have thought it would be above average.
I think that it's the context of goals conceded that's frustrating. Games against Geelong and Hawthorn are examples of letting 2-3 goals slip to under a kick going into quarter breaks.

Wow kudos for concentration skills lol

BUT

The real test is to compare that to other sides.

Please have same stats for the other 17 teams on my desk no later than close of business tonight.

:p
we'll see how good the swans v hawks game is :P

So in red time should there be more emphasis on backs wrt interchange ?
Backs rotating in red is operation stop the goals ?
I'd have to look at number of rotations after the 20 minute mark of each quarter, just to see on average how many we're making.

EDIT: I'll calculate the average TOG of the defence in comparison to the rest of the team

Against North we let them get a quick one right before half time. Interestingly no one has mentioned not only did they get a goal right at the end they travelled around the outside of the ground to get there.

They covered 3/4 of the ground around the boundary to get that goal.

Great work. I would've had us conceding more in red time. Any chance of the last 2-3 mins of each quarter? :p
Alright, here's what I found.

Deep into red time (three minutes from the end of quarters) we have conceded 26.8(164) while scoring 16.9(105) ourselves, meaning a deficit of 59 points.

That equates to 27.93% of red time score in the last three minutes.

Against top eight sides is where the deficit is. Exactly 59 points. 18.1(109) to 8.2(50)
Against bottom eight sides the scores for and against are exactly the same 8.7(55)

Nice work mate!

I highly doubt there's any stats for this but I would love to see how many cheap/easy goals we let opposition teams score.
Would also be interesting to see the amount of tackles we lay per game that are easily broken or where the opposition player barely gets touched.
I'm sure they'd be a stat from broken/ineffective tackles. I'll see if I can find anything

Huge stats for TL15 this year.

My inside food outlets are up this year by 3. I am plus 2 for hot dog receives and plus 3 for hot donut gets. Furthermore my heat map for Etihad Stadium matches shows a lot of activity along King Street after midnight culminating in an increase in hard ball gets!! :)
My inside toilet stats are getting better as I get older. Funnily enough, not a stat I'm proud of:oops:

Hawthorn may have a 10 game win streak against us spanning 8 years but that doesn't come close to our 25 game win streak over 13 years against them. None of us where most likely alive when this happened (1925-1938) but who cares!
Just like us all
Living in past but nice stat nonetheless:)

Just wondering if any team has had a better winning streak than 18 games since we had in 95-96.

Essendon would have had a fair run in 2000 given they only lost 1 game in the season (I think?).

So is 18 games the best run since 95-96 ?

I'm sure 16 in a row in 1 season to the flag is the best run.

In 1911 (or so) north Melbourne went through undefeated in the VFA before joining the vfl in '25
This was in matched at that level until port Melbourne did it in 2011 including a 27 winning streak into 2012.
