On the main board I have been arguing attendance with a couple of Bombers and of course they tell us the Tiger Army is a myth and they are miles ahead. I looked at some stats on rlstats and you know it is amazing how much scheduling has to do with it. Look at the bald figures for 2006 and 2008, the two years in which we have finished above them, and they seem way ahead. However look at same venue same opposition and what do you get?
9 such games in 2006
10 in 2008
Richmond marginally ahead in both years. Only a few hundred on average but ahead. Essendon's headline lead totally down to scheduling. This after 2 years of Essendon failure in 2006 and 30 years of richmond failure.
Interesting when you think that they were ahead of Collingwood not so long ago and we have never done anything. A good Richmond would be huge. We are already as I say marginally ahead of Essendon when ahead of them when comparing like with like fixtures and this despite virtually never finalling.
