Yeah well I guess im dong that also from 9pm-5pm the next day- whats that 18 hours. Have 1-2 cups of coffee and water throughout the day. Cannot eat anything.

Now I need to work out my afternoon snacking, I'm pretty hungry when I get home after three and end up eating something crappy or bready. Thinking I might have to start getting into the rice cakes and courage cheese or something a bit better for me.

I snack on bananas, almonds and carrot sticks dipped in hummus.

Yeah I do the carrots and peanut butter with lunch, it's a struggle to get a banana passed my son, I swear he can hear the peel. We did get hommus in the groceries this week, I should get some celery or something. Might do rice cakes and cottage cheese as a last snack before starting the fast.

Rice cakes are a very efficient snack in terms of low cals

Usually eat with vegemite, would eat with PB but for the cals
 
Eating is one of life's great pleasures and I think there's plenty of ways to get shredded without going without eating for 24 hours. This will never sit well with me
Fasting makes me appreciate food more, as others have said.

I find it piss easy to do but one of my favourite things in life is having lunch, then going for a walk and grabbing some tea, getting it going, then having a nice big meal you’ve waited for all day and have put love into. That’s the best part. My big thing is alcohol - another of the great pleasures, I’m trying to cut down - but I’m happy to have a vino or something if the meal suits it simply because I know I haven’t snacked and won’t again.

Anyway, how much do you guys eat? I generally have lunch like 1:30, dinner 6:30, then lately a cup of tea around 7:30. That’s basically it. I subscribe to the common sense calories in v calories out thing, but I wonder how much a snack or two will change results?
 
Miso soup and mineral water baby.

I want to reach for a beer most arvos, especially in the warmth, for that refresh but if I have a few mineral waters and the 4-6 period goes by then I don’t need one. Cheap too. And a great way to cut through the claggy mouth.

Miso can do me for a lunch, especially if you spruce it up with some veggies. Personally, two mugs of just the paste and hot water can be enough for me.

Miso is also unreal if you’re hungover too. Just enough taste and minerals but it helps you sweat it out.

That and have three or so litres of water. You’d be amazed how much water with just a bit of food makes your body full.

is that because you are on a plan of some sort or just can't eat? seems unusual not being able to eat for longish periods

Does anybody know how to stop your avocado going brown like that, it doesn't matter what color/hardness I buy them they go brown relatively quickly. I have to go to the shop every 2nd day to overcome this.

I KNOW, it's a top of the range 1st world problem and I should stop whining.

My diet is;

Break fast at 12 with;
A garden salad (iceberg lettuce, tomato, cucumber, capsicum, cottage cheese, bit of dressing) with a quarter of a chicken breast.
Two hard-boiled eggs
A carrot in hommus or peanut butter
A banana.
600ml black coffee, no sugar.

Then usually around 4 I'm a bit hungry, try to have something like a wrap or something but depends what's in reach

Dinner around 6, usually meat and salad or meat and vegetables. Once a week there's usually a pasta dish in there so the missus has leftovers for work.

Sometimes I'll have a coffee and a biscuit or row of chocolate before starting the fast again at 8.

While fasting I have a 600ml black coffee with no sugar around 5:30am, then just lots of water till 12.

Goal is to lose weight so I might have to tune up the little things like no salad dressing but not sure what else I should change at this stage other than the afternoon snack. Any ideas?
 
It sounds like you guys are having massive lunches, massive dinners, and then fruit and nuts in between as a snack?

I aim for a thousand calories – generally a decent dinner, a bit for lunch, and a coffee or two. Damn.

Lemon juice all over it, and keep it in a sealed plastic bag
 
For me water, everyday one bottle of poweraid zero (with some added bulk nutrients electrolytes, vitamin powder mix and vit C powder) green tea, black coffee and a little coke zero.

I was going to buy some of that bulk nutrients vitamin powder but didn’t end up going ahead.

Do you rate it?

I'd be surprised if that's all your intake was. Even a small woman would struggle to maintain their weight on a 1000 calories a day.
