There is Bangladesh v UAE series starting tonight if that counts? :)

Next week:
England v Zimbabwe Test
Ireland v West Indies ODIs

Late May and June:
Pakistan v Bangladesh T20Is
England v West Indies ODIs & T20Is
Sri Lanka v Bangladesh Tests
England v India Tests
Ireland v West Indies T20Is
West Indies v Australia Tests
Zimbabwe v South Africa Tests

Nothing for New Zealand or Afghanistan from what I can see. Still some life in bilateral international cricket.

Did Kraigg give it up willingly or not?

Yeah. He chose the right time and I’m glad he did. He did an underrated and thankless job with what no one would argue were fairly limited resources and as time went on it took its toll on his initially adequate, and later diminishing output.

We’ve had back to back seasons domestically where more and more players are making runs. Not huge huge runs but seasons averaging 40+ and making multiple hundreds etc.

We have promising players at the very least.

Take a punt on a kid if you must - Athanaze or someone.

Chase hasn’t been near good enough for test cricket for years and he’s 33.

Is it just me or does international cricket seem dead

a bit of a dog's breakfast , but somewhat organised.

it'd be a lot more compact if all teams had 2 winter tours and 2 home summer series comprising of tests and then 3 odi's and 3 20/20's (or 5 if we must). It'd give teams more time off to go play franchise cricket.

the england v zimbabwe test isn't noted as this was organised between the 2.

the aust v bang series will more than likely be squeezed in where we were to play afghanistan, so that we can play england in that spot for the 150th year of test cricket match.

the next FTP which is due out soon, will be interesting - i think they holding out as they haven't decided if it will be a 2 tiered system. i doubt it will happen in the next FTP - but a radical change may not be too far away.

ICC does update the FTP

here is the latest version

Angelo Mathews, soon to be 38, has announced his retirement from test cricket, with a final game against Bangladesh at Galle in a few weeks. Averaging 45 over 118 tests, it brings to an end what was a very successful, classy career.

He was rarely at his best against AUS, unfortunately.

Which was a shame, because he was technically pretty sound. He did quite well in NZ/ENG, which both favour swing/seam more than AUS does.

Still a very good career, though.

Handy partnership breaker early doors, too.

Still averaged 39 against Australia which was actually better than I thought it would be.

It's fine at face value, but a bit inflated by an incredibly slow century in 2011, in pretty friendly batting conditions, which arguably cost SL a series draw.

Beyond that, I recall some handy innings, but I don't think he showed his best against AUS.
