I see the peace team is getting ready for 2017. Don't know if they are attending IC 17.

    Extracted from the Facebook Page.
Participation Figures as at July 31 2018.
32,000 kids and young adults currently play Australian rules football in South Africa, 40% of whom are women. ‘Footy wild’ is active in 92
primary schools and 46 high schools across the country.
Looks like some growth has occurred in recent times, which is good news.
Potentially a AFL South Africa Womens team may appear in future years.

We took another look at the Facebook articles and came up with further good news about the footy over there.
1/ There are officially nine Provinces in South Africa.
2/ There were originally four Provinces that had AFL support ie 4 x AFL Clubs got involved with a Province each way back when.
3/ Checking the articles there are now two more Provinces - Limpopo and Mpumalanga that have a footy presence.
4/ The total now adds up to six provinces, which may explain the decent numbers of schools involved.
5/ North West Province has the most Centres listed -Eleven - AFL South Africa is based at Senwes Park Cricket Stadium, Potchefstroom in Northwest Province
Its all positive news for our game over there.
