International Rules series back on the agenda

I'd like the women to play but in an afl format, the Irish girls would do well and it promotes Australian football to those back in Ireland.

International rules is good too, as someone else suggested, state of origin one year, international rules the next.

Women should definitely play this.
It would be a bit of a kick in the guts for to the GAA, but it would benefit the AFLW long term, and may even help benefit the afl for overseas viewership

It opens up an interesting scheduling idea, an intercontinental double-header. A Saturday day game in Ireland, with a Saturday night match (6:30 start perhaps) in Australia preceding it.

Using international rules format for the women would be a missed opportunity to showcase afl to all the Irish. In saying that, the standard isn't great and would likely be better with the oval ball.

Like all stupid ideas that come and go despite no clear purpose, International Rules is just a paid holiday for the AFL and GAA higher ups. and b-grade players would rather get pissed in Dublin for free and not Perth and that's why they put their hands up for this shite and not State of Origin.
