International women's day is a joke, it feels like an award for trying like they give out at footy clubs or sporting events. Like an encouragement award.

There's already mothers day which is far more important than fathers day
There's Valentine's day when men have to pay extra money for the day or they don't get to touch their partners.

The OP wasn't even aware of the day, it's hilarious.

Maybe when the world starts recognising women like Alice Bowman rather than scum like the Kardashians I'll celebrate that day.
This guy cuts the bullshit away and says it how it is- international women’s day is tokenistic rubbish that people who are grounded in the real world with real everyday problems don’t give a shit about.
Half the population are women, it seems with every push for a new feelgood day to celebrate a group of people the pool gets bigger and more meaningless.
Looking foward to the next one introduced- ‘Everyone who isn’t a white male’ day

Pretty hard for the AFL to do that as the International Men's Day is November the 19. After the season has finished,
But the International Women's day is during the AFLW competition. Instead, they are having a Capt Marvel Day at Marvel stadium to Celebrate Women day a day later on the 9th.
Just Curious how many releases the 8th of March as the official release date for Capt Marvel and the reasons.

good rating bad ratings, The AFL missed the boat on this one. They missed a free pass to more national exposure for there AFLW competition.
You are completely missing the point. The afl do not get to arbitrarily decide what the broadcasters paying $420million a year show

How hard is this to grasp? Seriously?

Not missing the point, And it a JLT game,
The AFL missed the boat. Pure marketing it was a no brainer, National and some international exposure, better value to there naming rights sponsor of Marvel stadium.
It Ticks all the Boxes, doubleheader at Marvel Stadium on the same day as Captian Marvel worldwide release date which just happens to be International Women's Day. Instead, they attempted the same thing a day later with little fanfare.
They could have spoken to Foxtel and given them the same game on another night, Foxtel would not have stopped them in this case, the reason would be obvious to most people. more so in today's climate.

Just a question to some.
I was under the impression the AFL leader is there to manage the game to Promote the game the best way possible.
Therefore one would think that they would have catered on this day to the biggest growth and Participation group currently in Australian sport. and closed to half their supporter base.
They missed the boat. plain and simple.

Male or Female who cares, the AFL missed an opportunity to Promote the game at the highest level.
