NBN is finally in my area and I have been inundated with the various company plans, driving me crazy trying to work out the various plans offered.
I have been with Optus cable for 22 years and haven't had any problems so started with them.
They offer:
Plan 1. $60 per month - so called ideal for browsing.
Plan 2. $80 per month - so called ideal for streaming and includes Fetch and subscription to Soccer- yuk and Cricket.
Plan 3. $100 per month - their Rolls Royce.
or I can stay on my current plan similar to $80 but no Fetch. ($70 plan but get $10 discount)

What to do? What are other companies like? Plan, Speed, Price?

Any help would be appreciated.

Well I use Optus for our NBN.

I find that Speeds are Good Except during Peak Time Around 4/5-10/11 at Night.

At 1st we had Drop Out Every Day but Optus sent out a Tech and he Fixed our Problem(Damaged/Broken Cord Front of our House) and have not had a Drop Out Since

What plan are you on?
Thank you will check it out.

Optus cut costs by buying as little CVC as possible, this means at any time your speeds could drop to almost nothing dependent on how many Optus customers are connecting at the same time. TPG is the worst of them.

Aussiebroadband and a handful of others do not over-subscribe their services to cash in.

I heard the SameThing and that is why I guess we see Optus go Super Slow during Peak-Time.

My Mum got the Plan before Asking for my Opinion

My Mum said we got the $80 Plan Maggie5
Oh, now that makes me feel sick as that is the one I was thinking of and reading about your problems. I don't know what to do.:(

Helfarch, I checked them out, seems I need to buy the one that will cost me $85.00. 50/20, 500GB, $5.00 casual home phone plan.

Man this is such a headache, I was very happy with what I was on.

NBN is a Joke anyway. CH 7 have a Story with how many people are Ringing Obseman on how Shit there NBN is.

This is the Speeds they can get in the US:

Be Good IF the government did it Properly without being Cheap as Possible

Think in this case from what I have been reading, Government and the companies!

What does Optus say about your problem? Have you contacted the Ombudsman?

Yes we have. Though once we had the Drop-Outs Stopped we did not hear much about them but I we want to Change ISP that we would use them Again.

Optus just say it's Congestion. Though I have used a VPN get Some Improvement in Speeds when it's Super Sow

Been with them for a couple of months.
FTTN, Not FTTP.
Had to go from the $55 plan to the $65 plan due to blowing the limit after 3/4 of the month.
Must say I did buy a Fetch Mighty box and signed up to their $6 a month plan for certain channel selection, so that upped my usage.
First time I’ve been able to stream internet TV as the old ADSL line was crap.
Aussie Broadband have been excellent so far. Highly recommended.

Am in Singapore for 6 nights. Bought a $15 sim card for my phone that came with 100gb of data included.

I get 6gb a month on my phone back home.

What a complete rort.

Had the NBN guy come last week, he was here for 3 mins. Plugged in the NBN into an old Foxtel point when I had pay TV. (Dropped Foxtel when they started ads).
Told him that is a long way away from where my modem sits, he suggested I buy a longer cord as that is where he was told to install it.
I thought that they installed where it was best to receive throughout the house.
Anyway rang Optus to complain after three dropouts (and getting angrier) finally got them to send a technician to come around tomorrow.
Then was told it would cost me $140, I said no way. Optus is the one that told me I need to switch, wasn't told that I would have to install modem, phone line and Fetch myself so either they come at no cost to me or I will change provider.
Will see what happens tomorrow.

Optus is not that Great of a ISP for the NBN. Though we Contacted the Ombudsman and Funny enough Optus did not Charge us and Tech came Quickly. We no longer have drop outs but Speeds are Terrible.

Speeds I getting Now:

ADSL was Faster

Not sure what I should be getting but apart from very goood streaming, can't see much difference in browsing or downloading to what I was getting on cable.

on the NBN25 plan.

How close are you to the Node Maggie5 as the Optus said how far we are away from the Node and Fix it by Moving House(Rude Bastard - Stuff All Customer Service).

I notice not much Browsing but I can Downloading and Streaming Video's

Not sure but they connected to an old Foxtel cable which is right in the corner in front room and cords on the floor.
Still not happy with it though as can't connect smart TV (which is at the back of the house) with wi-fi and have to use a power plug. Lucky I had one otherwise couldn't connect.

Will hound them after New Year.

The did not connect us to a Foxtel Cable as we still have Foxtel.

We get it thru the Phone Line.

You have to Hound them as they would just treat you like Shit and try and Bully you
