Bought general admission to the Sydney game at SCG, (first time visitor).
Anybody else been or going and can share any tips, suggestions?

I'm heading up for this one. Not a lot of choice for budget accommodation Great Southern Hotel on George is ok. You can walk to the scg from Central station or they also run shuttle buses but the wait can be long. The distance is about the same as Flinders St to the G so I find walking the better option. As far as getting around the city, grabbing a feed or entertainment etc it's pretty much like Melbourne without the trams. I find it pretty easy to walk around using google maps on my android phone. If I need to get somewhere a bit further I just look up the nearest subway station and jump on a train. I think its 17 bucks one way trip from the airport to central on the train and its only takes 10 minutes (so much better than Melbourne's stupid skybus!) If your on a tight budget you'll probably find Sydney pretty boring but if you have some cash to splash then there's plenty to do.

Hope that helps. I know a lot of people might disagree but I've always found travelling between Sydney and Melb pretty hassle free.

Hi all, first off apologies as I am not sure where to post this. I am flying to GC on the Thursday night before the game to stay with a mate/magpie who had to move up there for work and we will be hitting up the game. Was hoping to meet up with some supporters prior to have a drink. Also my mate has to work on Friday so I will be wondering around killing time so if anyone is either on the GC or flying up for the game. PM me. Just FYI I'm M/29.

Another chance for an ex Collingwood employee to stick it to us.
Can't wait.

It seems that I wasn't the only one who noticed that the coverage on Sunday was trolling us by showing Damien Monkhurst at every opportunity they could.

Great advice. I live on the Gold Coast, I never miss a Queensland game but after recent efforts I can't even be bothered getting on the free shuttle to the game.

C'mon DD, put the scarf on, get on that shuttle, and either cheer the boys home or give them some vocal advice from the stands on where they could improve. ;)
Me and a few mates went up to the Round 3 Swans game and were pessimistic about our chances but what a great night it was.
Haven't been many since. :D

For this year and maybe next......Don't Go and Save Your Money

TD I'm starting to think I need to send you to ......................

Have a work conference on the Gold Coast next weekend so will be up there while the game is on.
How convenient.

Also even more convenient is there are events on every night but only 2 of the 4 of us attending need to go each night... lucky for me I get the Saturday night free so will be heading to the game with another bloke from work.

Have been before and really like it at Metricon.

Hopefully we have a red hot crack, I haven't been to a winning game this year so hopefully we get one here...

Currently on the AFL site checking out fares/hotel/ticket for Adelaide game.

For those of you that have made the trip, is it better to go through the AFL site or Collingwood Travel? Thanks!
Do it yourself it's cheaper.

Was going to but someone told me it is difficult to get tickets. This is the only reason I was going with AFL/Pie Travel.
I have travelled to all states, (on at least a dozen occasions) and never had a problem getting a ticket.
You just need to keep on top of the on sale dates and you'll be fine.
