Nope, but it wasn't like the Sixth Sense for example where the twist was the entire point of the film.

What he said. It's obvious early on what's going to happen, the journey is what makes the film.

Afteer avoiding spoilers forever I saw this movie today. Pretty ambitious. I enjoyed it. Perhaps dragged a little but the score and some of the space/planet scened were fantastic. I also enjoyed the relatively subtle way they showed the decline of Earth. Solid movie that made me think.

I don't think it was meant to be a twist ending...

Wether it was meant to be a twist or not the constant foreshadowing and slow pace of the movie.

I don't think a movie good if halfway through the film your thinking about the ending.

Plus using backholes as deus ex in Sci Fi is so over used that I was disappointed that Nolan of all people used it.

Plus to go to all the trouble to get most technical things right, while some things are forgivable like the tidal wave, the data, sending people when they had advanced ai's, dust storms that we already conquered back in the 60's.

Then to use not only the black hole get out clause but also the time travel when it was completely unnecessary.

Just saw this today and was pretty blown away by it. There may not have been much really original with it but it was a very well put together and well told story.

A couple of things didn't make sense though and it may have been due to some of the quiet dialogue I missed something here and there. The main one was, why was Matt Damon trying to kill Cooper? I get that he faked it was a habitable planet so someone would come to rescue him and not just leave him to die but why did he then try and escape with the rest of them left behind?

Did he also booby trap the robot so it blew up when the black dude was trying to fix it?

Nb I was expecting the robots to go all Hal on them and during that scene in particular was sure the back dude was gonna cop a robot arm across the back of the head.

Epic movie. Up late because I had to finish watching and it goes forever lol

One of my pet hates is casual SSTO (Single stage to orbit). They rubbed this one in extra by having the ship need to use a Saturn V style rocket to get to Earth orbit and then being able to easily escape the gravity of the supposed 130% gravity water world. *bangs head against wall*

Then a race that holds the secrets to manipulating gravity builds a rotating space station??? WTF???? Isn't it redundant needing to build something of that shape if you have the secret code?

The rollercoaster ride through the wormhole was cringeworthy. Fair enough you gotta spice things up for the cinema. Turbulent space? yeah ok.

Visual effects were stunning and they made a good effort into character development.

I didn't mind the last part of the movie when things got crazy. It allowed me to step back and say "they want to play fast and loose with space and time I guess the loose physics don't matter too much".

4/5 stars. Great movie, probably close to being a classic space opera. Certainly something that will generate discussion for decades to come.

Not sure very realistic but still interesting experiment of a film. Not seen it since saw at cinema but that bad parts of it ruined the good for me. Still worth seeing. Not a total flop but also failed to hit the mark for type of movie it attempted to be.

Very good movie that was maybe a bit too ambitious which meant it wasn't a masterpiece but I would prefer people try to push the boundaries than reuse generic tropes over and over again.

The science apparently all holds up, which for me makes it far more worth watching than other sci-fi films like Star Wars.

Well, that and I just find it far more enjoyable.
