Nah think our media dept would be all over the copyright rules. May be why it took so long to do this, compared to when the movie first came out and how much fans quote lion king and use gifs in social media.

Hard to imagine some money has not changed hands - royalty or licence fee of some kind. This is commercial use, not just an amateur social media upload.

Assuming we’ve paid a license fee/royalty then yeah all is well. But given it is so soon after the new trailer release and we’ve copied the structure of that trailer, I have my doubts!

A real shame, it was a great bit of work!

Unfortunately Aus copyright law is incredibly rigid with limit scope for remixing etc - this sort of thing might have fallen under fair use in the USA and been legally ok but we don't have as flexible an approach despite several independent reports calling for greater leeway for creators and less protection for large companies like Disney.
