It would have been hard for anyone not to laugh at those boys getting in to him but to give Fages credit he did his best to deflect the lack of respect for Carlton.
Fagan was actually talking Carlton up, mentioned quarters won and pushing Collingwood, the laughing was the boys going on about us making the finals and how'd we go, who would we like to play, what will we do on our week off, can we go back to back.

But the four-time premiership immortal will pull the pin on his football career this year and almost certainly become a Lions assistant coach next year.

Lions chief executive Greg Swann told the Herald Sun on Monday night Hodge would combine a part-time role at the club with some media work rather take over as a line coach or full-time assistant.

The Lions have an open invitation to Rioli to play with them given Fagan’s links with the retired star, and even have a list management meeting on Tuesday.

But he has said he is not interested in a return and would only ever play with Hawthorn, where he won four premierships.

Swann said Lions football boss David Noble, spruiked as a potential coach of Carlton, had indicated he would not put his hat in the ring.

“I only briefly spoke to him. I don’t think so, but he’s happy doing what he is doing. He is doing an outstanding job and I don’t think he has aspirations to coach (right now).”

Interesting Fages talking about players not having punting clubs at the club as we have a gambler on our list ( obviously reforming himself) and things get run by him at times, and at the same time looked quite funny im looking at Fages polo top with Neds sponsorship.

Iirc it was Christensen with the gambling problem and he moved here to try to beat it. He said every pub etc he used to go he’d have a punt at and needed a clean break.

Fages gave Hammo the Hack a nice clip in today’s presser when he (Hammo) suggessted that poor teams talk about improving and good teams talk finals. Fages went back at him with his experience at Hawthorn was that they never talked finals only improvement. Whackety wack!!

Wow. Great episode. Take the time people, it's worth it. Betts is an impressive man.
Agree, really good. I found it interesting that when Eddie left the Blues it really affected the morale and culture of the group. He was offered a 2 year deal by the Blues, the Crows and Kangaroos both offered him 4 year deals on double the yearly income... WOW! They obviously didn't want him, given the coke and sars.

And Rayner/M Robbo on the Footy Show.
Fages, Hodge and Zorko also doing radio.
Busy day.
Great coverage on the respective shows this morning, particularly on 7's Gameday. Looks like a great turnout at BSO when they crossed to Zorko, so well done to Lions players and staff on a chilly morning. Also started watching the Sunday Footy Show recording during the ads and a lot of Lions content and love.

Love nothing more than a Lions win on a Saturday with plenty of content of Lions on the Sunday programs. Thanks for organising Lions_Insider :thumbsu:
