Lot of poor % shots, out wide in the pockets. That's good defence from them to not give us the corridor to shoot from. Some poor choices also from our blokes to lead wide.
And a bunch of panicky, quick shots where we had a bit of time. That is something that will improve with time.

How many of our behinds were rushed ?

We had 71 i50 at 51% scoring efficiency to CFC 47 at 43% scoring efficiency. Our conversion rate i50 however was 24% to the CFC 32% which was highly assisted by the 50m penalties. So the reality is both sides were poor at converting accurately once inside the 50.
I like to look at the ability to successfully convert from your inside 50 entries . The beauty of this as Livo said we are getting a lot of entries and we have 21 more JLT games to get it right.

Hmmm - analysis.

1. First game of year - missing a few key players from last game.
2. Distractions - premiership hangover, doing 10x media, flag-raising bullsh!t, etc
3. Playing traditional rivals tipped for rapid rise up ladder.
4. Start asleep - down 5 goals to zip before warm-up even finished.
5. Opposition get 3 50-metre penalties that even the AFL admit were wrong - 2 at least direct goals. (Total 50-metre penalties errors admitted over weekend's 9 games - 3).
6. Couldn't kick straight in a wind tunnel. On the other hand, opposition kicking goals out of their a*se - their most accurate game in 4 years.


Can you see where this is all going, Tiger fans? We had 35 years of this sort of crap.

Win by a comfortable 4 goals. Oh, hang on - I'll get back to you on that one...................................................

Bad kicking is bad football BUT it is something that changes quickly week to week while other factors (i.e inside 50s) don't.
