Toast Into the Draft

Nope its because every midfielder drafted has been an attacker their entire junior career. Its to teach them how to be defensive as well. You'll find it is a regular process nearly every draftee goes through
The problem is that they need to learn to be defensive everywhere on the field. I think what we do is bad because players try and be defensive down back and when they are moved from there, they revert to how they played the more attacking position as a junior.
They need to learn defense in their best position first.

I'm not convinced this was staged but rather heavily edited. Perhaps they were instructed to talk about the strengths of one player in isolation without referring or comparing them to the other alternative choices. Then when we settled on one player they could include this footage without fear of future comparisons to other clubs selections.

The last thing we need for a player is for them to be unfairly compared to another draftee by the media and supporters. It would be like the Tambling/Franklin scenario all over again. Just destroys player's confidence and, in the end, careers.

Great video, great insight, great club! Well done Tigers - leading the way again :thumbsu:

The main reason why it off the HBL is they don't have to necessarily worry about getting the ball and be mindful of their man. Playing off the HBL the ball comes to them. This has been explained before.

I don't agree with this approach. Sorry. Name all the elite mids and Half forwards in the comp. How many had to play of half back first? It is better to learn defense in the position you are accustomed and most suited to play.

Interesting that FJ had earmarked Corey Ellis for the HBF. Seems like all our young talent starts there and then moves into the midfield. Anything to do with FJ being a backman in his playing days?
Do you seriously think FJ picks the team?

Each to their own I guess. Both for and against can be argued.

In the opening comment of this thread there was a link which contained our recruiters discussing the 2014 draft with an in depth analysis but the link no longer works. Was wondering if there’s another source for this that people can provide me with
