The problem is that they need to learn to be defensive everywhere on the field. I think what we do is bad because players try and be defensive down back and when they are moved from there, they revert to how they played the more attacking position as a junior.
Also every coach say this. No defensive side to their game.
The main reason why it off the HBL is they don't have to necessarily worry about getting the ball and be mindful of their man. Playing off the HBL the ball comes to them. This has been explained before.

I don't agree with this approach. Sorry. Name all the elite mids and Half forwards in the comp. How many had to play of half back first? It is better to learn defense in the position you are accustomed and most suited to play.

Frank says in the vid Ellis is an inside mid and agrees with someone else who says he could at HBF.
They all seem to agree on that. Most of our first round picks end up playing there anyway.
