Exactly. I thought Solomon was one of the more consistent players with a solid performance, though certainly not outstanding as the West portrays.
Article more likely to get some national distribution being Solomon focused, than say written about Andrew Browne. Article written in order to get the most coverage across publishing group, rather than a State based report.

Yeah the only mention i saw of Browne (BOG) was that he got smashed by Cookie. I have to admit it was a quick read though.

i know its only an intra club match, but by the sounds of it our midfield hasnt really changed at all

I think moving Drum into the midfield would be a mistake at this stage. Let him find some confidence and feel comfortable at afl level on flank before trying to teach him a new position.

Browne will be an addition to our onball brigade if he continues to show the endevour of last night and can stay fit. At one stage Browne slid into a pack on his knees for the ball, and came up on his feet with the ball in hand (a bit like the cricketers slide to field then stand up in one motion without pushing up off the ground with their hand). Encouraging sign, both the courage to slide into a pack at high speed and the skill to come out of the congestion with possession.

Solomon spent some time in the centre square, and Pav had a stint on the ball.

Hasleby, the Carr's and Bell will continue to spend a lot of time in the centre square, but expect Solomon, Browne, Crowley, Dodd, Cook, Headland and Pavlich to be rotated through there.

Started forward then finished back from memory. Purple team had a wafl player at full forward, I would have much prefered to see Drummy one out inside 50. Didn't do a lot but we are bound to see him at some stage during the nab cup.

Considering the draftees didnt play, he was one guy I thought could be extended abit more. He only really played his regulation roles around half back.

I mentioned the fact that Gale was FF for the purple side. He was the go to man. While the Whites had Pav, Campbell and Murphy. Why wouldnt you have one of them (Murphy) one out at FF ???

I think perhaps they were trying to similute the tall forward line that will be in place when Tarrant plays. Just drop out Campbell/Murhpy.

I was wondering how your forward line would work with Pav, Tarrant, Murphy and Longmuir/Sandi.

I haven't seen Drum at WAFL level, but at U/18 level he seemed a bit lost when played through midfield. Looked very classy at HB and could pinch hit up forward very well though. Has he played much in the middle in the WAFL?

Looked good across half forward last year, and the match committee felt he had the motor to be moved up onto a wing. Will probably be a utility player this year, slotting in where ever he is required.

What changes would you expect in an intra-club? The only real change may have come from MJ on the wing, but that was non-event in terms of impact. The rest of the equation is pretty much unchanged. Hasleby being fit will be the biggest change, plus a more confident/assertive Sandilands (who was maybe beaten by Longmuir; hard to tell in this sort of game).

I WOULDNT NORMALLY EXPECT ANYTHING, BUT CC DID SAY MUNDY JOHNSON AND DRUM WOLD MOVE INTO THE MIDFIELD GROUP SO THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN THE PERFECT TIME TO test them out

im not that dissapointed anyway because i have thought all along that those 3 arent midfielders

Well Pinkus, MJ definitely played there (wing). With the mobilty of positions Mundy and Drum ran through there too, but MJ had a longer stint, often starting there at centre bounces, sometimes alongside Peake (for about 2 seconds).

For me the changes that I want to see in the midfield are 1) a better rate of clearances capitalising on Sandilands and 2) a more direct delivery into the forward line where we have a powerhouse group of players who want to strike fear into the opposition.

The main chance of those improving will come from Hasleby being fit and ready to play a full match. I personally wouldn't bank on the impact of a move of Drum, Mundy or MJ to the midfield.

An hour and a half, do you drive a tractor? Takes me about 40 min from Morley and you must only be an extra fifteen minutes?

I'm almost certain you can pick up the kids packs round one at Subi, might be easier for you to get it then?

I'm approx 80 klm from midland and its about 1 1/2 hrs to freo:o :D
in the pack is pencils, eraser, pencil case, stickers, bag(not a back pack)ablow up hand and a kidsfreo footyThe young fella loved it so to me it was worth it.

Imo it was as expected with a few skill errors and dropped marks and a few players out of their usual positions but overall not bad.I dont think Jlo is right,I cant remember him jumping much or at all but I seem to be the only one.campbell looks quick and mobile for his size and looked good forward.

I doubt if he is 100% too. But, did you see him beat Sandilands at the centre bouncedowns? Hard to do without jumping.

He actually had a few great jumps, though a few were mistimed. Its no secret that his injury just has to be managed for the rest of his career.

I'm still a little concerned about Hase, despite the official word and media reports that he is fully fit. I'm sure I saw him wince a couple of times and hold his general groin area - like we saw last season.

Yeah I saw that too. He motioned to the bench to come off and was shaking his head and looking fairly uncomfortable when he did. :(
