...past or present, put up two vids of a band that you may think are forgotton or lack exposure to the masses.

Here are two from Talk Talk, a band from the 80's that to my mind, helped invent what many would regard as alternative post-rock. Started off as your typical synth pop band (Today, It's My Life), threw away the cheesey synths to create a more mature sound on 1986 album "Colour of Spring" with gems like "Lifes What you Make it" and "Living in a Another World" and finally graduated onto the post rock final two albums which are critically acclaimed, represented here by "I Believe in You". Mark Hollis, surely one of the best vocalists and lyricists off the past 30 years descended into heroin addiction and has dissapeared from the public consiounce, although a pretty unflattering cover off "It's my Life" was released by long-term fans, No Doubt a few years ago. Time to discover a great band.....or not - you decide.

Great idea for a thread! I will bend the rules and post two from their new album and 3 from their first because they sound a fair bit different.

The Checks

A New Zealand band that just get no love, but I really rate them. They are sort of rock/indie with a bit of blues and great to just chill out to and have them on the ipod. I am not sure if its just me that thinks they have potential or what, but I've been on the bandwagon for a few years. Love them! And hope this spreads the word a bit.

You and Me is their first single from their second album

Dark Fortress is a Melodic Black Metal band from Germany. I have found them out only recently and love their new album "Ylem".
