Rubbish, JD was obviously the 'only' choice from about half way into the series. Not the greatest voice in the world but not bad either, keep him within his limits (which INXS type songs are) and he does a solid job, has the right look for the band, great entertainer and good songwriter from what I saw.
None of the others covered all the bases like JD did, Marty has a crap voice and looks awful on stage, his songwriting was crap, catchy but crap, if he was writing lyrics for the spice girls he would have hit the nail on the head, "You and me up in the trees, the forest will give us the answer"? Come on what's up with that? He had some good performances, but they were all the wrong type of songs for trying out for INXS.
Mig looked like he was 'acting' when he tried to do alot of songs and showed with some of his performances and his orignial song that he was much more suited to doing soft, slow ballady type songs, would have gone great on Aust Idol.
The only other one that I thought could have possibly worked as the lead of INXS was Ty, great voice with both slow ballads and up tempo rock songs, didn't look bad whilst on stage but always seemed to be up and down, really gay one minute and crying about racism the next.
All in all JD was the only one who could possibly lead a revival for INXS, whether it happens or not only time will tell, interestingly I thought Pretty Vegas was a much better song than Easy, Easy and I think it's a bit silly that they wrote their next album before they had selected the new lead singer, i thought it would have been good to have got some musical influence from JD on it but it seems they are just going to let him sing to what they have already put together.
