i reckon they should in respect to a once great bands history that is etched into the popular music annums. it could quash some criticism, i for one dont like the direction the remaining members are taking with a new singer but i am sure if they are ok with the idea, their fate is up to them

Yeah, just like ACDC should have changed their name when the got Brian Johnson to scream through the lyrics, or how The Who should have changed their name when Keith died. Or any other numerous bands who changed integeral band members.

Not that i totally agree with how they did what they did, but why should the rest of INXS suffer because the lead singer takes the easy way out? It's not like LRB and their fight with the name, this is a leader deciding he didn't want to lead anymore.

it's far too late for INXS to change their name now - especially after the Jon Stevens debacle

I don't see the need for all this carry on though, most INXS fans can appreciate Michael Hutchence while allowing the survivors to move on

No they shouldn't change their name, i don't really think they are really after fame and fortune again, just an excuse to keep belting out there tunes.

I've been a massive INXS fan since the early 80's, seen them live a few times, have all the records, cd's, singles etc and unfortunatly had tickets to the Elegantly Waisted tour only to have Hutchence pass away a week before the concert. :(

Made myself sit through the first episode of Rockstar and the last, didn't watch any of the others and was generally excited when they picked their new singer, hopefully it all works out for them.

JDXS?? :D

No I agree with TF and Poptart, the band belongs to the Farriss boys so they can do what they want with it. I think INXS are in a great position here. Even if they fail to produce another quality album, they will still sell millions of albums simply due to the popularity of the 'Rockstar INXS' show - not to mention selling out numerous concerts the world over. If they happen to produce quality new material, it is simply a bonus.

Pretty Vegas is a decent tune, and I am optimistic that there will be more to come. I'll buy their album and go to the Melbourne concert too.

Enough's enough, put the INXS story to bed and move on.

Should have hired a female singer, written some new material and come out with a new name, best thing for everyone really !!

You say put the discussion about INXS to rest and then follow it with a very 'out there' and controversial statement sure to provoke a response.

I am glad they didn't do what you suggested.

The bit in bold caught my interest, and I'm confused.

Hutchens had a rope around his neck while ********ed up on drugs and w anking himself stupid. The easy way out? Would appear quite difficult really.
