Give or take by my reckoning only about 7 weeks after the competition wrapped up INXS' new album will be released. Apparently from what I can gather the songs were already written and recorded with only the vocals left to lay over. I guess they needed to ride the wave before they faded away again, but come on, this is the truest definition of manufactured music.

The songwriting was a callaborative effort between the existing INXS members and former Robbie Williams songwriter Guy Chambers. Although it has been said that JD "contributed" to the songwriting...yeah right.

I never saw the show, how does this JD guy go? Is he worthy?

It will be interesting to see how this album will be recieved, my guess would be that it will be accepted by the pop kids, and whole heartedly rejected by the INXS purists.

Its one of the biggest jokes in music. For me the name and band INXS died with Michael. It's like the brothers Gibb retired the Bee Gees name when Maurice died, respectfully because they would be existing as something they are not, which is the case of INXS. I'd doubt they will be trying to find a replacement for Maurice on such a show. Silly really

I think INXS was dead in a sense even before Michael died, although there was no official break up he had obviously decided to pursue his solo aspirations.

The band had been writing songs for this album throughout the series, before JD was chosen to be the new singer.

Will I buy this album? Yes. Do I expect it to be up there with vintage INXS albums in terms of quality and popularity? No.

In an age where most music being pumped out is abolute rubbish, I have small expectations for this album. It will not be any worse than the 'music' littering top 40's at the moment anyway.

Could be the way they went about getting a new singer.

Or the multitudes of singers they've tried.

I'm dissapointed that INXS will now be remembered as that band from that cheesy Idolesque tv show instead of for the influence and achievements for which they should have been remembered.

yeah true..
i have a feeling, although they all participated in this show, that it was most likely Tim Farriss's idea, as he is the one who usually pressures them into things. anyway i still love inxs and will respect them for anything they decide to do in the future.

Yeah i will also be buying a copy of Switch & Pretty Vegas which in fact will be aired on tonights Rage.

I'm not expecting too much or too little with this album, just appreciate the boys for getting on with life after Hutch, and if they want to record a new album, well good on 'em, i'm sure will be a whole lot better than some of the other crap that's released these days! ;)

I'll put my hand up and say I enjoyed watching Rockstar INXS, do not agree with the concept but there was some talent on the show and hopefully JD does well.

I'll certainly give the album a chance but like many do not have high hopes.

I'll also tune in for Rockstar next series with Van Halen on the cards.

i totally agree with the both of ya :)
i just think some other people on here should actually give them a chance and stop holding grudges about how they have gone about getting a new lead singer.
