a bit sad really, thought they did "kick" fairly well though.
to think they once sold out 8 shows at the tennis centre and dominated the world!

they were brilliant in the 80s, wrote a ton of hits and hutchence had an amazing stage presence.

but fortune seems like a twat... i didnt even know he was back in the band until today. i thought they sacked him with his coke addiciton a few yrs ago and left him destitute.

As poor as they were today they still outperformed Jet's 2007 pre-game show.

I vomited a little in my mouth during both performances so I reckon they are about par with each other.

its not fortune's fault.

it could be anyone there and he wouldn't be hutchence.

the others are the ones who need to give up as they're tarnishing their previous good name.

yeah agree, afterglow is an awesome tune but that's about it from the post hutchence era.
remember they went through a few lead singers, jon stevens, terence trent darby:eek: and ben harper all had a crack if i recall.

They're great songs that deserve to be played.

So JD has a little attitude, wouldn't be very rock if he didn't.

I enjoyed it.

Snobs

Perhaps overrated but they put out some cracking tunes in the 80's. Original Sin is still a classic.

Burn For You FTW.

you returned just in time for the national anthem. you poor thing

**** me I had forgotten all about the national anthem that was a national disgrace.

INXS have a great bunch of hits and even with JD they sound good. Obviously wont be as good without MH but still good to listen to.

Dont know why the others should quit when their lead singer dies. They can go on for as long as they want in my opinion.

yeah, when michael hutchence was alive. not now.

not now, they're just sad and losing any credibility that they had and burying good songs beneath years of dross, various lead singers and that stupid moustache pengilly has.

the odd reformation with lead singers is good for Hall Of Fame award nights - see the Doors reforming with the dude from the cult - but further tours or recordings cheapen the brand as it was - see the Doors "other voices" released post jim morrison.

Bands can survive the loss of drummers, guitarists, etc but probably not vocalists. Particularly ones as charismatic as Hutchence was.

Yer, I was thinking of the news reports Peaches Geldof apparently died of a herion overdose in the presence of her child. I was thinking about the events that lead up to Michaels death. How Peaches dad took Michael and Paula to court and stopped Michael taking his (Michaels) child to his country. I was thinking why didn't Peaches Geldof's father be as worried for her (his grandkid) childs saftey as he was about Michaels child?

I was thinking about what sort of court system allows itself to be manipulated like peaches father did. Allows itself to cause trouble for people like Peaches father wanted.
