That happened to me as well but the progress has come back now.

Why did they have to add baby Pokémon to 7km eggs? We’re trying to hatch an Alolan Vulpix for our 6 year old to transfer to let’s go I think we’ve hatched everything but the Vulpix in the last few weeks

some people simply can't. i'm constantly having to leave 5 to 10 gifts unopened and although I try to rotate who misses out, some people may focus on a core set of people and the reminders are left out

or they don't care

I think the 7km eggs scare people off as well.

Once you’ve got everything you need from them you no longer want them taking up valuable space from other eggs. It would help if you could delete eggs.

There's some real bastard steps in there - Ditto at 3, 10 raids at 6, and Aerodactyl at 8 are pretty mental, considering I've never seen a wild Aerodactyl.
