What level would you expect to start getting higher CP pokemon?

I'm level 10 and have a Pinsir 451 and then it decreases significantly to my next best.

Glitchy as all hell this morning, or do I need a anti glitch Pokeball? :p

So, went down to the local gym also held by the same team as me, think there was a free slot, went to battle and im fighting the lowest level on the same team, derp question but WTF? How do i tell how many free slots are available?

Can you link accounts by creating a TC account with the same email?

It's based on Gym level - a level 3 gym can have only 3 mons there. You can train to raise the level (takes a few goes usually) to make it a level 4 gym and put in only one of your fully healed Pokemon.

Evolve a couple of fully upgraded or high CP common Pokemon like Zubat or Pidgy. The higher the level of Pokemon you have the seemingly higher level of Pokemon you encounter.

Once of had a 390 Zubat and than I started to find other Pokemon with simmilar CP. than I evolved my pidgy all the way to a 790 pigot and the Pokemon got even higher. A fully upgraded eevee at level 12 evolved to a 1200 Vaporeon and its open season now.

It's just what I've noticed. The higher your level you'll also see higher CP mons but a few high level people I played with didn't evolve shit, until last night when I told them too and now they are getting more frequent high level Pokemon turn up.

Sounds like I'm about where most people are then. My mate at work is level 12 and he has a 1050 Growlithe (I think it was). Spewing haha.
Damn that's good. My best is a 900 Electabuzz out of an egg.

The only problem with higher CP stuff is when it comes to grinding with Pidgey, Rattata, Doduo etc. I just want them to be 10 CP and easy to catch so I can get the exp and Candy (for evolution exp)

Ah, so 'training' is when you're fighting your own gym, or any gym? Once your 'mon is in there if it gets defeated does it come back to you?

Can I battle for a place at my own gym?

Like if there is some spud who has a low level pokemon and I could throw a better one in there, and I beat him in a battle can I replace him?
No, but what you can do is level up the gyms prestige so that it can house more Pokemon. If you've got the time you can sit there and bash up up a few levels, then dump a nice high one there so its up the top. Then other people from your team will come along and drop theirs in too, but if yours is higher it will be one of the last to get kicked out by opposition trainers when they battle against your gym to bring down its prestige. Good way to sit on gyms for a while and grab free coins from the defender bonus.

The above should cover it.

Training is when you are fighting your own gym, to make it a higher level when you do not have a min in there.

When you have a Mon defending your turf he stays there till he gets defeated ( :( ) but he comes back to you. He will need a potion and probably a hug.

When you have Pokemon in a gym go to the shop menu and the top right will have a shield with a number in it. The number represents how many gyms you are defending. Click this for gold coins and stardust. You can do this every 21 hours. It's worth doing when you have a few gyms if this is possible.

You can also still see you min that is in a gym in your Pokemon menu. He has a blue symbol next to him to remind you he is still at the gym. You can't upgrade him till he comes back.

Last of all if you are not on team mystic don't read this post :)

Yeah it does come back to you when it's defeated. It's like you're loaning it to the gym.

Gyms get a slot added for every 2000 exp gained, or subtracted for every 2000 exp lost. You can add exp by batting/ training (same thing really) against your own gyms, and deduct exp from other gyms by successfully battling them.

CP is important in gym battles but type advantages are just as important and to a slightly lesser degree, movesets.

Also some advice on gym battling.

You get exp and lower an enemy gym on the number of pokemon you defeat. So you don't have to sweep the whole gym and beat that massive 1k Dragonite if there is 2 300cp Pidgey's holding the first two spots.

Just beat them over and over to lower the Gym level. Obviously as it deranks you wont be able to fight those Pidgeys but it helps get you exp and lowers a gym for a trainer with higher pokemon to come along and finish off.

Also when both training and attacking you get more of a reward using lower level Pokemon. As an example, if you beat a 700cp with a 450-500cp you get around 650-750 gym prestige when training your own gyms, while if you beat three 700cp with a 1200cp you get around the same if not less. You also always do far more damage to gym prestige when attacking than you gain when training.

Level 14 and seem to get between 150CP and 350CP

Had two 450+ dodge my balls which was a bit shattering and then got myself my 3rd 3 headed bloody annoying doooooooododododododododd CP451 with one normal pokeball. Argh.
