iphone - new model?

Yeah I thought the Pre looked stunning when it was announced at the start of the year and nothing has changed my mind about it since. It's launched in the US next week and in Australia not long after that.

iphones are awesome but Apple are a little too control freaky for me.

One word. Jailbreak.

Yeah not keen on the hassle, just want it to work the way I want it to without having to fudge things.

The 2 year contracts that came with the first iPhone (in the US) will be expiring soon. Apple would be silly not to release a new model to capture these customers.

Someone I know was in David Jones Apple store yesterday, and apparently was told the release date for the new iPhone is June 8.

Anyone else heard this?

The Iphone minis are legit...(Well the phone is they might not be actual apple)

My friends father got her one from china or something...

But there pretty nifty

They also have this antenna that comes out and you can watch tv wherever you have to go.... It would look a little strange I would admit watching tv with a arieal on public transport

Its black on the front white on the back. (You can actually see in the fifth photo if you look carefully)

It was next to my gfs lg as a size comparison.

You can see the photos were taken at a restaurant called Dendy Deli on Church st in Brighton Victoria.

Sorry about the quality of the photos being bad but they were taken on my phone.

There not as thin as other Iphones btw....

That is so not an authentic iPhone.

I know it's a 'nano' but here's a few things I picked up on:
1. LOL @ the aerial in the first picture.
2. Screen doesn't take up enough real estate on the phone.
3. No iTunes or App Store icons

I am telling you I actually held it....

And it sais Mini not nano...

One thing I did pick up on though when looking through her music it was quite different compared to a normal ipod touch....
It just went straight into the songs not through artists... and even then it was almost completely different to an normal Ipod touch/ Phone besides the first menu screen.

For instance the usual white and blue scrolling through music was orange and black which I was a bit suss on.....

And No matter how much I looked through its properties I couldn't find how much space it had.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was fake but none the less it was a great little phone to use.

It supported taking two sim cards (Which might not be great for the normal user if you had a business and a personal mobile numbers this would come in handy).

It had tv reception as I talked about before (Which was surprisingly clear with use of the antenna.)

Plus the usual things you want on a phone eg: Bluetooth 2 megapixel camera.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was fake (It most likely is) But I know what I saw and held and those photoes I took are genuine.

The biggest issue I had with it was it had a different socket compared to normal headphones..... (It was a smaller socket) So normal headphones wouldn't fit..... It came with its own headphones anyways that looked exactly the same as ipod headphones just with a different socket.

That would be the same day as the announcement, so I would suggest not.

Yeah I thought it dodgy that they wouldnt announce the release day weeks in advance to build up the hype.

Since then. the same person has been told in a Telstra shop that the new phone will be with them in 2 months time, which sounds more around the mark.

I doubt that it will be an iPhone killer, but I'm certainly interested in having a look at it.

Also unlike what It says in the video it now works with iTunes.

Comes out next week in the states on Sprint.

Even with that pompous voiceover I doubt it will outsell the iPhone. Just like laptops there are many other brands of laptops 'better' than the MacBook for the same price but they still sell. A lot of people see the iPhone as a fashion accessory and it looks better than the Palm Pre IMO, and people will buy an iPhone simply because they don't know of any other alternatives and also because it's an iPhone.

The Pre definitely has some pretty cool features though, I would love Apple to integrate some of them especially multitasking, but I can't see that happening.

i have speculative yet fairly solid information that the new iphone will be in stores here within weeks..

pretty sure there'll be a 32gb model.. dont know much else though

one of the main reasons the macbooks sell so well is that their os is better than windows, and most of the applications that come with it are better than what is available on windows. to the average user that is enough..
