Yeah my girl is a little "brand happy" when it comes to accessories like these, but not as much as some so she'd probably love the Pre. I read somewhere that other providers will have the iPhone in 2010, is this true?

Just to be clear that is not a Pre marketing video, it was done by a 'review' site. Obviously they are trying to drum up controversy.
No one is seriously suggesting the Pre is going to outsell the iPhone.
Not too sure about that, i wouldn't be surprised if iPhone 3 had multitasking.
The contract with AT&T was extended until 2010. It may or may not be extended again. At this stage no one knows.
i doubt it. for some reason i think hardware might be an issue regarding multitasking. often i've crashed apps by playing music while they're running.. might be some sort of memory issue..

That is the software update. It is expected they are going to announce new hardware next week.
Of course, well it must be huge! lol. When it comes to keeping something as popular as the iPhone all to yourself, money probably isn't much of an issue for AT&T. Those bastards!

Apple would surely still have to make more by teaming with Verizon, the biggest provider in the US. The only consideration would be the cost of adding CDMA support to the iPhone, but the benefits would surely outweigh that cost.
Yeah that is the thing, it means so much to AT&T that they will take a hit themselves to stop Verizon getting their hands on the the phone.
Apparently they made Apple a deal they could not refuse.

Pre doesn't sync with iTunes anymore, since 8.2 came out. At least that's what they think

Yup I think those are the biggest rumours going around. Also a compass is a pretty safe bet as well.

Doubt it'll be possible, but if I'm on a plan with an 8GB iPhone, do you reckon I'd be able to upgrade it to one of the new 32GB models? If it involved re-signing the contract for another 24 months that'd be all good, but mine isn't due to expire for some time so I was wondering if I'd be able to upgrade now?

What you should do is sell your current iPhone for ebay, there are plentty of suckers out there who are oblivious to the fact a new one is coming out and will pay top dollar for it. Use that as rebate for buying the new one.

as surprised as you may think this is sadly true.
a 5 minute google search will tell you there is a new iphone about to be released, personally the current iphone is CRAP IMO.
