Sorry for the Newbie question, got my first iphone yesterday on Optus 99 + Internet bundle.

Is the Data Usage figures accurate under Settings / General / Usage / Cellular Network Data.

According to my phone, I used 125mb in 4 hours last night. 3 hours browsing Big Footy, 1/2 of misc googling and 1/2 hour of you tube viedos.

Seems a biy high to me.. 125MB thats 8% of my 1.5GB monthly quotta gone in one hit.

I downloaded the Doodle Jump update and it's a DIFFERENT COURSE! Completely threw me.

Yeah I like the new Doodle Jump. One bug I'm happy they fixed was when you used to put the game in silent mode, the exploding levels still made a sound.

Can anyone recommend a good site or application for the English Premier League? With the usual, scores, fixtures, league table ...

And finally, is it possible to record a tv show through your iPhone? Is it possible to use Ice TV or something else to record through Foxtel IQ, TiVo or Apple TV?

I'm thinking Ice TV with a Mac sounds appealing, but I don't even know if this kind of thing is possible.

ESPN ScoreCentre is alright. About 5 minutes behind on commentary, but score updates are nearly instant.

So I'm in the market for a new phone, never been an apple fan, but thought I'd test out the current model of the ifashionstatement to see what all the fuss is about. Have to admit I was impressed, until I realised that it only runs one application at a time. i.e you cannot toggle between open applications, the phone closes down the current application before it opens the next one. And for its price this is supposed to be a smart phone?

Think I'll go for a kick arse Android phone instead.

At least you didn't say something stupid like you'd opt for a Windows Mobile phone instead. I agree, Android is gonna rock, but I'm prepared to have some fun with an iPhone for now, and let the Android market mature just a little.

Android phones have been on the market since last year but it's only been this year that a lot more phone manufacturers have adopted the platform. Some wicked models to be released later this year and early next year. But this ain't the thread for that.

What are people's best score and 10th best score on DoodleJump?

For me they are 41,060 and 23,245.

Doodle Jump best 45,040 and 10th is 33,669. After playing it a bit I can get to about 25,000 with no trouble but those damn exploding platforms usually get me. Best 1.20 I ever spent so addictive.

I've had this for some time

I set up my email account with the Mail bit on my iPhone and it pushes.

Noob question:-

The icons that are usually in the bar along the bottom of the screen (Phone - iPod - Mail - etc) on my wifes phone have somehow gotten mixed in with all the other apps, and that bar is now plain grey.

Any idea how to get them back where they were?

I ran a restore, which fixed it, but when I reloaded the backup, they moved again....



EDIT: Crisis averted. Just found 'Reset home screen layout' option under Settings...

dude, all icons can be moved around, even those in the bottom section. just press and hold any icon until they are all wobbling, and re-arrange them as you wish. personally, i have Phone, Messages, Mail and Calendar down the bottom. Use to have Contacts down there, but contacts are accessible via the 3rd screen in the Phone application.

I've been downloading quite a few games lately. I am totally addicted to Zombieville USA, that is brilliant. Great music and sound effects, so much violence! Great choice of weapons, just need more ammo (Word of advice: in the Options settings, select the New controls rather than Classic). Plans for future releases are: different costumes for the player, boss zombies, different locations, and a new mode beyond the basic "survival" game.

And geoDefense (and geoDefenze Swarm). Just looking at the game on the APp Store, it's hard to understand what it's about. Even when you download it, it takes a while to develop a strategy to tackle the game. Hours of fun though.

Also downloaded Flight Control cos it seems to be one of the most popular games. Haven't really given it my full attention yet.

you will have the same issues selling it as you would selling any 3 phone

It will be locked to 3, just as the vodafone and optus phones are locked to vodafone and optus

If you've seen some of my comments, I am excited by Android, but I went with iPhone because in my opinion, it's too early (especially in Australia) for Android. It needs another 12-24 months. The iPhone is not perfect, but it's 1000% better than Windows Mobile, although I'm not overly familiar with BlackBerry.

Yes I am with 3 Mobile, as I have explained before, I work in a basement and reception ain't great except for Telstra. But I don't want to be a Telstra customer, so a few years back I changed from Optus to 3 Mobile. That way, I can roam to Telstra for voice calls at work.

I have been having some issues lately with the 3G network. I have been fiddling around with the APN, changing back and forth between 3services and 3netaccess. There has been discussion over at Whirlpool about recent issues with 3 Mobile.

With regards to selling it, I think you'd have to pay out your contract to sell it, or you'd have to wait till the contract ends to unlock it. I don't know much about this area though.

I was just playing it then and after getting past 2 of the big f- off aliens, and through a massive phase of draggable platforms, I died on 27550. Shattered.

I haven't had a good score for a while and I've been trying to improve my 10th best score to over 30,000. Difficult game to play in bed cos you have to be completely upright, even lying on my back, it's never completely straight.
