Can anyone find those apps that give you free texting (once you pay for the app) that work in Australia and on iPod Touches?

Downloaded the free scorecard version of "Golfshot" yesterday.
It's fantatsic for any golfers out there.
It has pretty much every course pre-loaded (and if not, you can send a copy of the scorecard to the developers who will add it). Simply select your course, choose what tees you are playing off, scoring format and away you go.
Add your score for each hole and if you want to get more detailed, add putts, fairways hit (or missed left/right/long/short), sand saves and penalties.
Over time, it will accumulate your stats and give you a great snapshot of how you are playing.

Yeah, I think so. Same as Ping!. I've got Ping! and it's not bad. I'm in London and send messages & pics back to a couple of mates back in Oz with iPhones for free. Paid itself off in the first day I got it.

I'm more looking for things that let you send free txts to normal phones. I know there's a stack of ones on the App store but none of them work (They only seem to work in America).

Just updated to 3.1.2 and used blackra1n to jailbreak my iphone.
Now i need ultrasn0w to unlock my iPhone but i can't get it because there is no cydia. WTF do i do?
EDIT: Just realised you can do it through the blackra1n app, too bad my wifi isn't working. Will have to walk down the street til i can find someones who i can steal lol.

Hey guys, I just got a free iPhone from my bro so I need some questions to be answered.
The phone has a damaged wifi antenna and I was wondering if there was anyway of fixing it.
Im also on prepaid now and realised that its pretty pointless with the phone as it keeps connecting to the internet and draining my credit. Whats a good plan to go on? (I don't really wanna spend that much on it)

I'm on a $59 plan with Optus, which (from memory) gives me about $350 worth of credit and 700mb of data allowance. I think the $49 plan gives you the same credit and 250mb.
I don't know the data allowance thing works though, when I signed i was really worried 700mb wouldn't last me, but I haven't even yet come close and have been using it heaps. I know SFA about computers (and technology in general)- I know that that amount would last me bugger all on my laptop, so i don't know how/why the hell it lasts so long on the iphone?
Anyone know about TPG phone plans and iphones?

Never get charged for Wif. Wifi has nothing to do with the Phone service provider.

Ok my phone has been jailbroken fine (with blackra1n). Had it going well for a few days. Then my phone went flat and it said it needed tpo be restored, I did this, but ow it has happened again. I have just done a quick google, if I just boot up blackra1n again should it work? Any way around this?

Apparently you need a relatively new Optus account, which have 15-digit account numbers beginning with '8'. Older accounts, such as mine which are 8-digits and begins with '4' (or other numbers), are useless. I just called and spoke with an operator who confirmed that they are incompatible, and said this won't be rectified anytime soon.

I bought the TomTom app a few days ago and have been very impressed with it.
Coming out of my house onto the nearest main road, is a left-turn only. Most maps software do not handle this fact well. e.g. Google Maps just asks me to turn right.
TomTom was smarter in that it asked me to turn left and go up the road to do U-turn via a sidestreet. Smarter but definitely not the route I usually take. First time using it, I take my usual route to the main road via a maze of back streets before rejoining the designated TomTom route. Cool, I could live with that.
Today, I created a new route that involved using the main road. Voila, like magic, TomTom has recognised that the way I went last time was the best way to get to the main road and used that route instead.

No. Just make sure you don't reset it/it dies when you are away from a comp.

that just means your on their old billing system.
i'm not sure but i think if u call them to do a plan change or something like that they have to convert you over to the new system first - giving you a 15 digit account number..
