I know the new features are pretty good, but I'm still glad I bought my iPhone 3 months ago.

You get iOS 4 so that's good, and it's free.

You can wait and wait and wait, or buy when you want/need. A 3GS with iOS4 is still a great phone. Sure you save some bucks by waiting, but the trade off is he got to use it the last 3 months.

In the US they have to be on AT+T, meaning they offer cheaper handset costs but you are stuck to one provider, hence the prevalence of jailbeaking and unlocking

I got a 3gs about 4-5 months ago but im not too fussed about this, wouldnt make video calls and dont use it as a camera much, so im happy just having multitasking on iOS 4

Three months of iPhone. My old phone was well and truely ****ed. I'm on a contract, so it doesn't bother me. If I was too desperate I'd just upgrade and pay out my contract.

I'm after one for my girlfriend, so when the price drops I'll get her a 3Gs

I think I will be upgrading when it becomes avaliabe in July. The white one looks nice I reckon. Really sets it apart from the older models.

No. This is the big one for the next two years, next year will only have a minor release, if their previous formula is anything to go by.

Also, the other week my iphone stuffed up, cannot be repaired. Didnt hav insurancer for some reason haha, but i can claim it on home and contents. The thing is does anyone know whether ill have to get another 3GS, or if I can just order an iphone 4. Prob only cost a bit more, can't see why not. Only need to send the insurance comnpany an invoice. WHat is the best way to go about this?

Depends a little on your insurance company, i think. JUst get them to write up the cost of a replacement. I guess, have them specify a iPhone 4. A lot of insurance companies also sent a cheque, so you can in the end buy as you please.

Whilst I like the look of the White one better then the common Black colour... the thing to remember is:

If you use it to watch videos etc (which is a key feature now) the Black colour 'frames' the screen better for viewing pleasure.

For that reason alone I will be picking up the Black model, but I agree a Silver model would have looked great... but then again most people will probably pick up a cover to protect the phone anyway... so the colour selection might be a moot point for most.
