Restored phone, MMS still not working. Will have to call up vodaphone tomorrow and work it out. Funny thing is I can send MMS but not receive.

Ok, when I restore my Ipod Touch It says "Can not restore, error 9"

Anyone know how to fix this?

If not I have to divre to Chadstone to fix it. I'm hopingthat at least at Chaddy they will maunally restore It themselves. Anyone know (If i have to do this) how much that will cost?

Try putting it into DFU Mode ?

My 3G iphone SMS Send button sometimes doesn't work (doesn't embolden/stays grey), especially when used in the message thread format. It's frustrating for quick messages in particular, because I have to resort to going to Contacts book and starting afresh.

As a few forums have suggested, I turned the phone off then on, but to no avail. Anyone else have the Send button not working?

What is this?

Here is the problme in a bit more detail:

I forgot the password for my lock:o. I used all my attemps now the screen saying connect to Itunes comes up with the USB cord and apple sign or Itunes sign (i forget).

Then i connect to Itunes and click Restore and and the end of the process is says "error 9" Then On the Itunes site it says that "error 9" Is a troubleshooting problem. I recently heard of these firmware things, but I have no idea what that is ans what it does.

It's an Ipod TOuch 8G and I got it last December (probably first gen).

I just rang Chandstone and they said I have o book an appointment and It's all so complicated. ANY help would be very, very appreciated.:thumbsu:

Had an iPhone since the 3G originally came out and had no problems with it. Upgraded to a iPhone 4 a week after it came out and again had no problems with it whatsoever. Left it in a taxi on Sunday night!

Turns out if you've got Optus Safeguard insurance you're covered for this kind of stupidity so it'll end up costing me $100 ($25 for new sim and $75 excess to replace the phone) but I should get a new one pretty soon. Despite having never made a claim and usually looking after my stuff pretty well I can't recommend this enough. It's also a relief having a phone where I know that I didn't lose any data because I synched it with iTunes a day or two before I lost it.

Totally bored out of my brain without it though.

I just wish there there was a free remote wipe feature as offered by https://www.htcsense.com/ for Android.

Apple will have to do something extraordinary to prevent me from moving to a HTC Android device one day.

I have myself in a bit of a bind. I was using a PC until July at which point I got an iMac and tried to sync my iPhone. But I wasn't sure what I was doing and was worried about overwriting the iPhone and losing music or apps or settings.

So, long story, short, I did nothing. Basically, I haven't backed up my iPhone for over 3 months and have been meaning to get around to it.

So has anyone done it? Gone from PC to Mac, or even PC to new PC? I've had a quick look around and apparently I need to copy my iTunes folder from my PC to the Mac, do a sync, which will erase my iPhone completely, then do a restore or something. I get the impression one way or another my iPhone will not be returned to the exact state it was, eg. system settings, app settings, folders, deleted apps stay deleted, etc. I think I better do a final sync on my PC, copy the iTunes folder over, and go from there. I think

This looks like a good article, will give it a good read in the morn:

There is a program called Senuti which I have used which copies everything off your ipod back in to itunes if you have previously deleted it from itunes. I have used this in the past for my ipod so I presume it would work for iphone as well.

I think I've managed to move iTunes from Windows to Mac.

I didn't transfer my pictures, but after my iTunes migration, backup, restore, sync, I surprisingly still have all my pics on my iPhone.

So where are they stored on the Mac? I was expecting my Photos app to be empty.

^^ out of the box, I don't think so. Probably have to look for an app, but then again, perhaps only JB'ing the phone will allow you to do it.

Does anyone use Google Calendar and sync to their iPhone? If so, do you use Exchange or CalDAV?

I use Google Contacts. I have just set up my account in iTunes under the Info (?) tb, and it keeps it synced.

Is it different for Calendar?

Hey guys,

Thinking about getting the iphone 4
Ive got around 7-8 months left on my current (3 mobile) $29 cap
Probably will get it on the $29, as it easily covers my usage.

Main reason looking to upgrade is because my Ipod is dead, was going to go out and get a touch, but re-considered.. thinking theres no point when in 8 months time ill be getting the IP4 (once my 24month contract has run its course). However, saying that.. once my contract runs out, im thinking the iphone 5 will well and truely be on its way, and i dont want to have to wait basically a whole year (from now) to get it.

So question is, Is it worth paying out the rest of my contract (Just over $200) to get the IP4 now, or should I wait until it expires?

Basically is it worth getting?

Cheers :)

Sammy,

In regards to paying out the contract you seriously just have to scare them that you're leaving, and they will hopefully waive the fee.

For me - I had around a $180 cancellation fee, as I was going to change from the $29 3 cap to $59 iphone 4 cap. So I called up three to get my account number so optus could port my number over. Anyways after I told them I was leaving to optus they ended up exactly matching optus' plan and waiving the cancellation fee. Beauty.

If you harrass/complain enough you can get Three to waive the fees. Don't listen to the crap they tell you, or their team leader tells you nor even their manager. Keep going up the chain until you get what you want.

I got a $1500 bill few months ago for apparently downloading 3 gig over 2 days on my iphone. I got it waived.

I have a 3GS and my situation is I'm happy to stay put with the phone, but not with the carrier (Three Mobile). I've been meaning to call Three for a little while to try and get out of my contract. 15 months in, 9 months to go. Been with Three for probably 6 years, and went with them because they would roam to Telstra. Well since the Voda merge, it's all gone downhill for me, and I've been planning on calling them to complain, but not demand contract cancellation, just ask them what they plan on doing about my situation. Hoping they offer cancellation.

.. once my contract runs out, im thinking the iphone 5 will well and truely be on it's way...

I know this is probably difficult to estimate, but does anyone have a rough guess on when the iphone 5 might be released? Am just considering my options, contract-wise. Have been put off reports of iphone 4, so am thinking I might hold off for #5. Still got a while to run on my current contract anyway, just planning ahead ATM.

Also, anyone else got the Virtual Table Tennis app? Is pretty addictive, and the free 'Lite' version seems to offer almost as much as the paid one.

Thanks for the info guys :)

Called up for the second time this afternoon and didnt even have to mention cutting the exiting fees, bloke just did it for me !

Gotta go into a three shop tomorrow and put my order in, will have to wait a few weeks (everywhere ive called is out of stock).

Cant wait though..

Sometime around Late July.
