only fell $2.10 (around 0.5%) by the close of trade. And is up in after hours trading.

Stock actually fell 6.9% from 12pm to 3pm, then recovered some before end of trade.

I think it'll be intereting to see how the battle goes with Apple now having a lower price point, that could be damaging for Google, too.
 
I think sticking with a 3.5" screen is a mistake, and I'm almost certain next year's iPhone 5 will have a bigger screen. Make no mistake, there's a lot to like about the 4s, it just depends what features you value. The 64GB is probably a huge factor for some people. The A5 processor is also a huge improvement. They could make the camera 1000MP and it wouldn't be a big deal for me. Siri voice assistant? Meh, WTF seriously! Was there a demand for this? I guess there wasn't demand for iPad before it existed, but I can't see how Apple can put forward Siri as the next big thing.

I think the demos, and Apples implementation of it were very, very polished.

Some people I were talking to this morning had Siri as a big features. They spend a lot of time in far on their way to work, being able to distate notes, add appointment etc via voice was a huge plus for them.

LOL. I was 90% sure there would be no iPhone 5. I'm disappointed that the screen is still 3.5". I have a 3GS. I didn't buy a 4. I don't buy a new phone every 12 months.

I doubt see the appeal in using Siri to tell me the weather and telling me inaccurate data from accuweather.com. I put up with that inaccurate crap on WM6. Not only were the forecasts wrong, but the live observations were also way wrong.

I kind of agree, I wasb't impressed by the feature on paper, but it looked good with APples implemntation.

Even reading Engadget, who said they tried to trick it by asking for ramdom information, and it didn't falter once.
 
At its core, it's still just a toy though. Most people won't use it that often. Especially not in public. Just has a nice "wow" factor to it. It's kinda like the Heytell app now - when I first got it, I was walkie talkie-ing messages to everyone. Now I can't be assed, so it's back to texting. The novelty wears off.

Could be handy while driving though? That's the best thing for it i reckon, however if phone needs to be unlocked for it to work then it'll be a fail

The thing I'm most interested in is the iCloud idea, but even that isn't an iPhone exclusive thing. Just get it for free.

Storing your data, music and such and getting it wirelessly is a great idea. Hope it works as well as I think it will. :D

Would never use the siri thing, although I can understand the big steps that Apple has made with this. Not only do you talk to it, but the phone actually understands what you mean and works to answer the question. Not sure you could actually speak to it while running though. When I exercise like that, I'm huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf. That guy wasn't even breathing heavy. :rolleyes: How would it register if I'm pretty much blowing into it heavily every two seconds?

Also, after 30 years, how can they not improve on the voice? It's pretty much the same from when they first unveiled talking computers some three decades ago. The person who makes that voice sound like an actual human will be super rich.
 
You should be able to choose the Siri voice. eg. Christopher Walken
 
Siri has huge potential for enterprise use, I can see our guys absolutely loving it.

I presume it's on IPad2 as part of iOS5 as well though? They'll be able to use the IPad2 as a true diary now - "Siri, schedule a meeting for tomorrow at 2 at the office please, and remind me to pick up the drawings before I leave home in the morning," - stuff like that will be fantastic.

As for the rest of it, I'm partially disappointed; I was keen for the new shape, yet, at the same time, the improved processor (very improved) and camera are a big deal for me - and the 64 gig is definitely attractive.

Not sure, so far it's iPhone 4S. ANd not within iOS5 itself, but whether with matching CPU's etc, they bring it to the iPad, who knows.
