I don't think there's any technical reason why Siri wouldn't be compatible with the iPad 2.

"Where's the closest pissa?"

"Calling Peter"
Well there is one good one to come out of it.

Tell Siri you're drunk, it'll find the phone numbers of cab companies for you.

But as for understanding the AUstralian accent, etc, appears right now that you have to make sure for example the phone is set to Australian English. So it appears to be reginonalized a fair bit.

I Guess the intersesting thing with Siri is, that it requires an internet connection to work, that one I'm not so sure on, thinking it may be a flaw. Some of the speculation has been that part of Apples data centre is dedicated to Siri translations, and being able to pick up on accents. As it learns more on different accentsm, the data centre can adapt easily.

I can recommend NOT updating to iOS5 just yet. At least wait until America is asleep.

sick video of iOS5. Dude covers everything, many things I never knew of. He spends like 2 seconds on each feature. And he's already JB'd.

I would love to hear your opinions on Siri. I'm reading that the only place for location-based questions is the US which is very disappointing.
Looking around a few forums, it's been working rather well with the Aussie accent, with a fwew slip ups. Sadly, on the location based questions (businesses etc) is US oinly atm, a little disapointing for sure.

I picked mine up this morning. Haven't got around to setting it up yet.

How long was the line? I'm guessing it was a lot shorter than the line for the iPhone 4 what with all the disappointed people not getting their iPhone 5 this year.

I got there at about 9:30 expecting it to be bedlam, and there wasn't another customer in the store. I was quite surprised.

iMessage is pretty cool. Should make whatsapp redundant.

I agree. iMessage is fantastic. My manager was able to send me a text message from his wifi iPad, and he could do that by putting my mobile, my work email or my gmail in the To field. And I was able to send him an iMessage back to his iPad.
