Yeah I've gone straight from 3G to i4 so never experienced the speed boost of the 3GS.

I am absolutely blown away by the performance boost in my 4. I turned my old 3G back on just before for a laugh and it felt so painfully slow and looked like shit.
and this :thumbsu:

Vodafone online orders have been an absolute mess.

People that have ordered later than others are getting theirs first, their online tracking system is completely f***ed.

Really screwed the pooch.

I think Vodafone deserve massive thumbs up for giving existing customers priority.

They could have easily gone for the money making route and gone for the new customers first, but they didn't. :thumbsu:

Ahh, I'm one of the lucky few then I suppose.

Phoned 8 am Friday, was on hold about 90 mins and my phone was delivered Monday.

Hang in there, it's worth the wait.

The screen... OMFG. :D

the jailbreak for iOs 4.0.1 is out, works on ALL iPhones :thumbsu:

http://jailbreakme.modmyi.com/

open the link in safari and it will jailbreak straight away without the need for a pc

Giving my old 3G to my girlfriend.

Can someone confirm if I install 4.0.1 on there and then go to the above link that it will safely jail break it?

Yes indeed. That will JB any iDevice atm.

you guys hear about the Telstra loophole? even more reason to go with Telstra.

http://apcmag.com/iphone-4-telstra-bumping-plans-to-6gb-if-you-ask.htm
I think I'll be getting on the $49 cap with 3gb data for $63.50 per month. Am on the waiting list at the local JB and shouldn't be too long until I get the call up.

Only thing I'm not sure of is all the 'porting' stuff. I still have three months left of my 24 month contract with 3. The JB bloke said to not say anything to them until I get set up with Telstra so that they can 'port' my phone number and that I would just get charged that extra three months by 3 through my account as normal. Has anyone else dealt with this porting stuff? Do I need to go to 3 and sort anything out there?

i jailbroke it but i dont understand how it works really

i have a new theme but what are the best things to get off cydia?

I find the best reason to JB is the ability to put any app from the official AppStore on for free.

TomTom is too expensive to buy

Can you sync to Outlook or Google from the Sony?

Also check with Apple Stores. When I was in there, they mentioned they had a device that would transfer all contacts from my Nokia. They could have something for Sony's.
When I bought the i4 they tried to transfer all my contacts from my old SE phone to the new SIM that came with the i4. Problem was that I had hundreds of contacts in the SE that wouldn't fit on the new SIM (memory limitation issue), so not all of them were migrated across.

I found a solution in the end; I synced my SE phone contacts with my SE PC software, then found a way to convert those contacts in the SE software into standard Windows contacts, then synced the Windows contacts with the i4 via iTunes. Bit of dicking around but got there in the end.

If only the i4 had regular bluetooth support then I would have saved myself a lot time by transferring all my contacts via bluetooth, just like any other phone

Can anyone recommend a iphone media player app that allows real time streaming from URL's, like Winamp and Windows Media Player does? I'd love to be able to listen to the footy streams on my phone.
TuneIn Radio.

Costs like $3.99 I think. Installous price is $0.00.

Works very well over 3G connection.

Locates and loads pretty much any stream that is on the net, and will sort into State/City/whatever.

I was listening to Melbourne MMM today while at work.

Highly recommended.

Goto Manange, then Sources. Hit the edit button (top right). Hit the Plus sign (top left), and add http://cydia.hackulo.us/. Hit Add source. Say yes to the warning that comes up.

Cydia will then update it's package list. Once that is done, look for Installous. Download that and the other packages it needs.

Then your done. Download away.

Alternate is heading to http://apptrackr.org/, download the app on your Mac/PC, then sync it onto the iPhone. This could be faster as you could be able to download the apps at a faster rate, pending the sharing site the app is hosted on.

AppTrackr and Installous are from the same people.

The problem is that you can't listen to footy streams via MMM (or any other other footy broadcasting station) as the AFL has barred it. To listen to footy streams you either need to do it via the AFL site, or enter this URL in a media player:
mms://wm9.streaming.telstra.com/ucs-wh_afl0live3

Hence why I'm looking for a media player app that allows you to enter URLs. Does TuneIn Radio allow that? If not can you recommend a player that does?

Also, can you advise how to install Installous? Thx! iphone newbie here :)

If you're thinking about using your phone to listen to an internet stream at the game, it wouldn't work. Internet streams would be about 30 seconds behind live play.

Are you sure? listening to the Saints game on SEN using TuneIn right now.

And to install Installous. Jailbreak if you already haven't, and then use the instructions in my post about 3 above this.
