What is the right amount of usage before it dies?

At the moment I'm on 54 misn usage
7 hours 17 mins standby

battery is at 84%

Is that normal? I'd post on whirlpool but it seems most people aren't getting a response

Cheers

Yeah sounds about right to me. That is rougly what I had today from the start of work to the end. It really does depend on what you are using your phone for. Playing games and hammering the internet for a few hours will seriously crush the battery. However just keeping it on standby it should last around 3 days.

It's not really needed to drain the battery. Some say it is actually bad to let the battery drain at all, even though Lithium Ion batteries donn let you fully drain them (normally turns off at like 2-3%)

Also, no real need to turn off background apps. Hardly any impact on battery.

You can take it back within 14 days and change it, no questions asked.

So if you're unhappy. Then swap it. No sweat off your back.

It's time for me to continue or cancel my Apple MobileMe subscription. I didn't really want to get it in the first place, but I thought I'd try it for a year then re-evaluate. The only thing that appeals in the slightest is the remote find/lock/wipe feature, in case I get mugged my Martians or something. Other than that, I use Gmail, Google Contacts and Google Calendar. I don't need a picture gallery or 20GB on iDisk, I use DropBox.

And I think they used to offer bookmark syncing, I wouldn't mind that cos I still haven't found a great solution to sycning bookmarks across home pc, work pc, iPhone and when I get one, tablet.

So does anyone use MobileMe? Did anyone consider it and decided against it. I just wish the 'Find my iPhone' feature was free.

When I tried to download the last iPod update it mentioned something about having to back-up my songs etc.

Does the recent update cause you to lose anything from your iPod?

P.S. Does anyone know if the new Touch comes with a built-in mic?

my 3GS stuffed up again. No jailbreak. Went to update to 4.1 and it just stopped halfway through and now can;t get it out of recovery. Gonna take it back to 3 and see what I can do. Sick of this phone

It's definitely more money than sense. I choose to use the Google cloud rather than the Apple cloud, but unlike last year, I reckon this time round I'll risk getting mugged by martians and doing without the 'Find my iPhone' service. I'm sure I could get a decent machete for less than $119.

Monkey Island 2: Special Edition is currently $1.19 reduced from $10 on the app store.

jailbreak for 4.1 coming soon anyone know?
Hopefully. They have the JB. Probably finding a way to provide it in the simplest way possible for mass public use.

Just last night I unticked the renew option in MobileMe. I have a couple weeks to change my mind, which I don't believe I will.

Anyone got the consume app working for Vodafone? Where do you get your user and password?

Went into my 3 store today wondering when the **** my iPhone4 is going to arrive and get the answer - another 6-8 weeks.

I ordered a week before the release so have already waited 7 weeks and now have to wait another 6-8 weeks. Really pissed off.

Have you paid anything? Any reason you are staying with 3?

If not, why not ditch them for Telstra or Voda.
